Whichever one keeps me out of hotwater! No really, I was thinking more along the lines of right v. left than right v. wrong. But I guess that works too. Where is Ethel?

or politically right vs politically left ???

Yes. I feel much more comfortable about voicing my political views over here.

May I have EVERYONE'S attention for a minute !!!!!

I NEED to APOLOGIZE to our Birthday girl "Kim" apparently she took my post last night about her not wanting my EE seriously. I hope No one else did!!

I would like to explain the whole thing!

A month or so ago, Kim bought a baby EE, about two weeks later I bought three baby EE's. well it turned out that Kims EE was a rooster!! she was dissapointed. So I offered her one of mine Free her choice! She had one picked out. Yesterday morning she sent me an email and said she would like to pick it up that day. Later in the afternoon. she emailed me and said she had got two other EE's closer to her girls age. and she would not need mine after all. So I thought it would be fun to give her a bad time on here (but bad idea) about not wanting my girl. Kim and I have been friends for a couple of years and see each other several times a month. I thought she knew me better then that.
Chicken Rustler and I give each other a bad time on here. usually about WHITE eggs !!! and those of you that remember weaveagarden (cindy) she use to give Rob and I a bad time alot, and we would give it right back to her. so.......... theres the rest of the story !!!

So, Kim and anyone else that took my posts seriously last night. I AM TRULY SORRY !!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kim !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a nap !!!!!!

It is a work in progress-I get the sense I will be modifying it for awhile to come-I just read about a "poop board". While I have the few of you here right now-what is the best materials for building the roosts/perches? I read something about deforming the breast bone?

I appreciate your signature line.

Every time I read about poop boards I think of The Egg and I (the book, not the movie: the book is 900X funnier, although very much of its time in its attitudes to race and class) and Betty MacDonald describing her heavily pregnant self scraping dropping boards for the brooder house.

I'm running terribly late today, not because I watched the royal wedding (I don't much like real in person weddings where I know the people) but because I was contemplating the wisdom of taking a Vicodin last night and forgot to take my handful of "WARNING: May cause drowsiness" medications in the process, until about 1:30. Bad me! Bad, bad, very sleepy me.

Luckily nobody will be home until after eight tonight, and it will be dark then, so I'll get stuff done in the afternoon. I hope. If it doesn't rain.

I came to think of showing cattle as the worst, most expensive vacation ever; unfortunately, when you sell breeding stock, it's an important part of the ad budget.

Dad always fed beet pulp to started calves and milk cows; they loved the stuff! It improves palatability in cattle feed, but I forget the nutrient profile; I know it's full of vitamins and minerals, though.

I haven't figured out what chickens think tastes especially good, except slugs and peanuts. I'll find out how they feel about pears and apples if it ever stops raining so I can get pollenation; I have about thirty very old apple trees, and five old and one new pear (and a quince: I'm not sharing the quinces).

My girls like to pick at the fallen apples under my trees in the fall.

Michael's chooks work and rework the ground under the Northern Spy tree; I'm hoping that with diligent chickening the stupid apple maggot lifecycle will be interrupted.
