Pencil "lead" is graphite, which is crystaline carbon, so no problem for eggs.

I have a couple winter blooming shrubs and an orchard full of sapsucker holes, so I have Anna's Hummingbirds all winter; I've got Rufous ones now, four of them fighting over every plum blossom. I saw Swallows down at the refuge coming back from Seattle (without my purse) in March, but they didn't get here until about two weeks ago. Very late.

We've had 6, yes SIX Serama's hatch!!! So thrilled! 3 look black, 2 look yellow with gray marks on their back, maybe splash? and one is blue with a white chest and under belly!!! Had two hatch early this morning, and I think we are done. Will take pic's of them all when I move them to the brooder later.

Last night I candled and quickly moved the next batch into lock down. I have 10 Lav/Split Ameraucana's, 6 Lav/Split Orps and 4 Crele OEGB's due Sunday!

Today I'm setting my 3rd batch of Lav/Split Orps, plus some more BLRW and more Olive Eggers.

I know I have several of you on my list for chicks, PM me if you want an update of what I might have available when, or I will email you when I have your order hatched out!

Also, if anyone wants black split Orp chicks, I think I will for sure have extras in the next few weeks, so PM me. Split means they carry the lavender gene so if bred together in the future, there is a chance for Lavender chicks. Or, come get some of these chicks, AND my mean young nasty Lavender Orp roo, and increase the odds for Lav Orp babies in the future!!!

I too would like to APOLOGIZE TO KIM for my comments about her Birthday and joking about age. I knew she was much younger than the age I (jokingly) wished her a happy B Day for.
I am truly sorry if I have hurt any feelings. As Ron pointed out and for any of you who know me know I do my share of teasing on here. I guess I may do a little too much and some times what I may think to be funny may be taken serious by others.
But I also think that those of you who know me also know that I RARELY intentionally say anything to hurt some one.

Kim Happy Birthday and I hope the rest of this special day is very nice for you.

i have decided to go home for the weekend till tuesday... but i will be studying and bringing as much of my dorm room home that i can fit in my car.... I'm leaving the bigger and expensive items in my room for mom's truck to haul next week.
i felt i did not want to be competing with the other 11 floors next week for elevator and carts....

also when i took the first load to my car it was spitting flakes at me... its cold and windy... like 33 out...

I've been looking into getting a few silkies. You should tell me more about yours.
Does anyone know how you breed for the sizzle? (No comments CR!)

Silkie/Frizzle

OK school is in session. Here is all I know about them. Our Silkie lays for 3-5 weks then goes broody for 3-5 weeks. OK class is over and schools out for summer.

WHAT? Silkies lay eggs???

CALL DUCKS ARE HATCHING!!!

I am lucky enough that I was able to come home to help as needed.. I will take pictures. Boy now ya know where the term Ugly Duckling comes from.. cuz gosh, they sure look like little aliens when they hatch.
