Boy what a day.
Headed out to get my new chicks (love them) when I got a call from my son, he was heading to the hospital again. Soooo dinner was off and I ran home with the chicks made a new little home for them and my Cornations Sussex chicks together than headed off to the hospital.. Im so proud of my son he has had the worst year.
When I got home my DH said hay you dont have to back the cake but ya do the potatos

like I had nothing on my mind... Dinners done..
So it looked like it was a nice day outside not sure..

Im wondering where my Sizzle eggs are they should have been here today the latest so keep your

that they are safe and will hatch when they get here..

To all the new people this is a great group of people on here with lots of information so pick our brains..

the eggs I set some 8 days ago...we candled officially tonight. Set 28. I accidentally broke 1. 27 eggs in until day 8. Candled all...1 is infertile. Down to 26 eggs all in Brinsea Octo 20. Everyone else had veins, an eyeball or movement. It was so exciting.

Now we will see who makes it to the "FINISH LINE". Gosh day 19-21 cannot get her fast enough. Best evening every.

night everyone. DH and I decided since we could not go camping....we are sleeping in the trailer tonight. Camping in our own yard.

sorry I missed you zgoatlady! I was late to the party...had to rescue a horse stuck in a blanket stuck in some mud...in my new shoes and good pants

horse is ok though. I was trying to get there same time so I could say hi and see the chicks you were getting from Carol.

AND!! I hate starlings!! they ripped a corner of my siding off and tried to nest in my bedroom wall....persistent lil suckers!! but on the subject of killing the little birds..it is against Wa state law to shoot songbirds

I would never let my kid target practice and shoot birds. I told him if he killed something he had to eat it. he did not want barbequed robin for lunch so he didnt kill them lol...I am not a fan of robins either come to think of it, they are mean!! and eat my queen anne cherries before they are ripe...

Which reminds me, I meant to ask you: are there any dairy farms left in Ethel, or have they all been wiped out by the whole herd buyout? I remember any number of cold wet April and May mornings running up and down Highway 12 and the Jackson Highway from one dairy to another practicing dairy cattle judging with all the other 4H and FFA kids.

My Grandpa Leo Kaiser had a dairy out that way for years!

I would think that maybe it was on Kaiser Rd. and most of it is now gone.

Hello all,
I'm new to being a chicken owner and just got my chickens yesterday! 2 Easter eggers and 4 Rhode Island reds. The Rhodies are really sweet but I can't get the EEs to come to me yet. Darn.

Anyway, I'm just outside of Olympia. We love this area! So pretty!
