She's already 15 hands at the withers, and 15.3 at the butt... Im glad she has a nice compact body, she doesnt have the long back that lacy has. And boy does she have a big butt for a baby! lol her sire was a 17.2 hand TB and Dame is 15.2hh foundation bred QH.

Well that would explain it!! lol Big parents!!

Im thinkin that she will probably still be growing come her fifth year. lol She's gonna be a big girl, so I best get over my fear of hights on horseback. lol Im used to riding on 15h horses, last time I rode on a 16+ horse, he tossed me like a wet rag. I about hit the cement, but was able to control my fall enough to land in the mud instead.

Husbands are like that. Mom slipped out of bed Monday morning, and the residence they live at decided she needed a 24 hour care giver within the hour. Several of us took shifts with Mom for the couple of days it took me to arrange a caregiver. I was spending time talking with the hospice nurse, the residence nurse, the residence social worker/counselor, and Catholic Community Services, and Mr Hallerlake was fussing taking something out of the freezer.

I'm so sorry about your Mom Hallerlake. She is fortunate to have you to watch out for her. As for your DH's fussing - well.

Thank goodness my DH not only knows how to make a sandwich but doesn't mind doing so because some nights I just don't feel like making dinner! As long as the animals are fed, a protein shake for me, sandwich for DH and we can be good on an occasional evening.
Take care - I imagine you've got some more challenges you'll be dealing with...

if that ones to big you can have this one, rescued mini mule with BIG issues, about 34 inches tall. not halter broke

I'm not in the market for a mini mule, but I am curious what kind of issues one would have? Like many young girl's I used to dream of having horses, but know now it's not going to happen, (although I do still ask my mother for a pony every birthday. At 54, I till haven't gotten one.) Being a BYCer has not only enlightened me and given me an education in poultry, but made me realize just how MUCH work, horse, or mule, or any kind of livestock owner has to be willing to do to be responsible. I admire you all for doing what you do.

Oh he's cute! Love the TB head on him!

You know he really is! Has nice wide eyes and when he's not trying to play studdly with my geldings, he's quiet and very smart. I've done just a little CA on him and he's picked it up very quickly.
thanks!

Well at least you have 12 I guess. I haven't candled again since I got too inquisitive and candled mid week last week so I don't have a count yet. I have been checking my water level every third day and keeping that 3/4 full. Temperature is holding. In anticipation of chicks, I picked up chick starter when I made my trip out to Del's today to get galvanized feed cans. I'm optimistic, but I'm not counting my chicks yet...

I have been perusing the auctions to see what's available or considering what local friends have. I'm not certain I should be considering another hatch after this one, but it might be too tempting!

Oh my friend you are NEVER too old!

You just have to find a horse that matches up with you and your skill level. Don't forget your dreams!! There are plenty of good horses looking for a forever home that need someone to love them!

Oh you are totally right. This one hardly counts since you only have 12 eggs left. And out of those 12, 2 are bantys, which is only counts for one LF. You certainly have my permission to order more eggs.
