I looked at that, and thought it would work well as something to put in the old greenhouse, rather than as a stand-alone. And I'm going to make a hoop-house out of the pipe I bought last week instead of messing about with saws et'c and so on. After I finish lunch, change out of town clothes, and see if the lady w/the BLRW hen has written back.

Sorry your Meniere's is acting up. Maybe you should rest for all of us?

Why didn't you think it would work as a stand alone? I think with roofing and exterior stain it should be weather worthy.

I've caught a nasty, nasty cold. Resting is not optional. If I can't stand up, I can't do much.

Im sorry to hear you have a cold thats not good, take care of yourself..

It had been 48 hours since my first chick hatched and I'm not seeing pips in my remaining 3 eggs so working as quickly as I could, I snatched my 6 babies out of the incubator, leaving the eggs in there. And for the past 2 hours I haven't been able to tear myself away from chick TV. These cuties are hilarious! I'm going to have to take some pics and post them. The light Sussex/black Orpington crosses are interesting in that they look very much like black orp chicks, but one has feathered legs! I love the fuzzy legs on the faverolle babies too. They are so sweet I'm getting a toothache...

Starting to feel a little sad about the eggs that haven't hatched though. I know they have chicks inside because I candled them before lockdown and could see them clearly.

For the folks in and around Seattle....

My Neighbors will be having their annual Plant Sale!
The 21st of May look for the signs on the corner of 5th NE and 92nd st (just up the hill *south* from Northgate mall)
*if in the area on the 20th or the 22nd also check in since sometimes the weather allows for early/late open sale
They tend to grow a lot of Heritage, organic and non-GMO edible plants.. also some flowers and miscellaneous.
They are great at growing healthy happy plants and even have a Banana tree in the back yard

Well I have sold alot of chicks today, mostly 1 mo olds out from the brooder light.
Alot of people do not want to have to brood, or just plain do not know how or cannot be bothered to plug in & hang a heat lamp I guess.

T-Hi::: Sell duckles ?
Mine are getting big and are an absolute crack up!
Bread bits in the water pan, or peas, and they go nuts dabbling & belly surfing to get the last bit.
So fun to watch, more fun than chicks!!

My greenhouse is 85 degrees, and nice & humis, the hoop frame we built yesterday over the ever-growing monster pumpkin is 95-100 degrees and very humid.
We built it from PVC, from scraps in the shop.
The pumpkin is a "Wyatt's Wonder" that supposed to get monstrously big

You can almost see it grow.
I also have Cinderella pumpkins

chickens will have pumpkin seeds this fall!!!!!!

Simce the hoop house is so big, I trans planted the 2 black beauty zuchinni & 2 green goddess zuchinni and 10 sweet meats around the edge.
The sweet meats will crawl out, and so will the pumpkins.
Soon, weather permitting, my yard will be emcompasses with trailing vines with stealthy orbs beneath.

The paddy pan start have to be trans planted soon too, and will probably build another hoop house for them.
I have to start pulling & harvesting the red torpedo onions and transplant a few more tomatoes.
They are getting too big for the hot frame and need to get out!!

I know... nor do I... I'm jealous! but they have not been able to get fruit yet... they have gotten it to flower a couple times I think but no fruits.

Amazing garden in the backyard too and they are *gasp* Renters. I so wish I had a house they could rent from me.

The weather just said T-storms south OR and going N-NE into SE OR and then S WA and then into S Idaho.
Last night they said we'd get it here..but so far nada.
OK by me~~
Although a wee bit of rain on the garden is good, I am sick of muddy runs!!!!!!!!!

OH, BTW~~
MOT is GONE!!
We "dispatched" his mean applesauce fanny yesterday A.M. and to the dump he went.
Good ridance.
One hen too.
The remaining 2 hens are entertaining my Black Java cockeral for the moment, as his girlfriend sustained a back injury: a nasty slice down her side from the overly romantic cockeral...just when I was about to saddle her, it was too late.
She has a slice about 4" right at the end of her rib cage, nasty deep.
So far, she seems to be recovering with Betadine washes & ointment.
The skin should have been stiched, but was dried and pulled apart and full of mud when I discovered it, hidden under her wing tip...

Hopefully she survives.
In the mean time, the RIWs are having fun with Java Cock.
