likewise has been pouring here all day

DH, bless his heart, went out, put another tarp over the run, let the chicks out of the coop -- I told him it would be muddy BUT they can hang on on top of the platform/pallet where we keep the feed and water ... and in a little while if it eases off, I'll go pull them some fresh dandelion and "fuzzy nasty velcro-ey" weed ... both of which they dearly love

am so glad they like this weed, it is a PEST ! will have to look it up to see what the actual name is, started showing up in the NW about five years ago or so

We've always called that stuff "My Buddy" because it sticks to you like a buddy. Good to know the chickens love it. I can just walk in and they can eat it right off my pant legs and shoe laces.

As far as us need to stop & rest and comfort ourselves, I have wondered the same thing, especially since I had my HIS-torecto-ME!!!!!!
Since then, I have gone on 24/7/12, never again a cramp or swerve in hormonals moaning...and I am convinced that I need to stop & rest like I used to BEFORE....once a month we were meant to STOP, eat Toll House Cookies & whine, (or wine!)

Yeah, that was one of the things about full menopause: I did not have the moment when my patience ran out with myself and everyone around me, and THINGS GOT DONE. (Well, that and losing control of my diabetes and having to test six times a day). And then I would fall over and finally sleep for a long night and feel much much better after the cycle. I seem to have relocated the getting things done part, but not the laying down and sleeping for twelve hours or so part.

Yesterday the hot flashes warmed me up after the cold fits. There is an up side.

So, what did Johnny Depp showing up in a pirate hat and Mr H's bathrobe mean?

Oh I don't think we need a dream interpretation book to figure that one out.

tired. took my meds. checked the incubator then grabbed charlie to take a nap with me in my room. i have the window open so i have a nice fresh spring smell. its rained 1.65 inches in 24 hours here.

2 chicks have hatched and 5 more were pippimg. i partically unzipped one that had started last night. added water on it. so we will she how it goes.
humidity is now around 70% but i don't want shrink wrapping. the membranes look good with very little veining...

ok my eyes are reallly heavy again. i might garden later, then sew since my outdoor options are limited.

So I have 11 chicks out. 3 Black Marans, one with feathered legs, one blue, and 3 Splash which all have feathered legs. And 4 sex-linked olive eggers. Two girls and two boys. Nothing else is going on in there. I have two Marans and the one Lav/Split Orp egg left. We'll let them sit through today and see if anything else happens.

My next batch locks down on Tuesday night with BLRW, more Olive Eggers and Lav/Split Orps.

Boy, just looked at the weather radar: what a mess! Also: UGH. Also whine.

Sounds like Bedstraw - http://www.weedalert.com/weed_pages/wa_bedstraw.htm If that is it, it's awful stuff.

LOL That's what mine do! Especially when I wear my crocs with the furry liners in them!

I'm not sure, but I think I have five Brabanter hens and one cockerel. "Blondie" is the only one showing signs of a tiny, pink comb, and is feathering out at a different rate than any of the others. Either that or I have five cockerels and one hen. Let's hope not.
