re Privett --- that's where our Del's got their chicks, and I got mine from Del's -- am REALLY happy with my EEs

even if one of the "pullets" turned out to be a roo ... (he's on the way to gorgeous)

since I understand WA state law requires all out of state hatcheries to vaccinate chicks, I feel lucky that I did it this way

Personally, I have 9 hens (right now) and I have 3 individual boxes and 1 big community box - they ALL -for the most part- use 1. Yes, you read this corectly - THEY ALLL USE THE SAME ONE. There are even arguments about when one can use it. Crazy birds.

Oh how I wish I was out IN the country! lol The house you see behind the roundpen is my neighbor who runs the cat rescue/sanctuary. My Mother is 100' to the south of me, then theres the native family about 200 feet to the west... lol we have a few neighbors here, but have 3 acres to play with.

. Hi neighbor! I'm in UP. I have visited Gardensphere and plan on going on the coop tour. So I'm guessing from your screen name that you do not currently have chickens but are thinking of getting some? You've come to the right place. This thread is full of enablers!

We are not enablers?
Who is an enabler?
Not me!

You, CL, an enabler....NO WAY...don't say it is so....

But I think it was CL who helped me to make the decision to jump in and buy an incubator (which we are having an absolutte ball with) and now my some-odd dozen birds has jumped to some-odd 50. A few will be sold and others to Freezer camp...but, yes, I have right around 50 birds right now. And, yes, the incubator is still going.

So what size of coop are you thinking of? The reason I say this is my husband is great at building, if its not huge maybe he could let you know how much it would be.. Just a thought. We are trying or Im trying to build up some money so I can have one of my dogs eye sugery done. Its $1000.00 per eye and Id like to do just one eye..

I also have a shipping crate in my backyard I won't be needing if it's of use to anyone.

Trying to figure out how I could get this crate....argh! I am in Lacey with no truck and no one to help me...but I am pondering it!!
