Got the order from Jeffers, a bunch of Broiler Max vitamins & a pack of Corid as I just ran out this morning.
The Broiler Max looks awesome!
Lots of vitamins & minerals, and NO selenium (yippee!!!)
DH broke the directions down so I can make 1 gallon of solution and add an oz of the solution to eat gallon of chicken drinking water.
And no time to loose, the meaties growith right before your eyes and are getting to the pig-out then lie-down stage...fledging...sad.
Soon they will be ugly half bald waddling meat birds instead of cute little yellow babies...but best we do not get attached.
LOADS of vitamin D in the Broiler Max too!!!!!!!!!!
For $2.79 a pack makes 256 gallons...cannot beat that with a stick.

We have a new 4 legged family member. She is a rescue that is staying with me for training. Her growth was stunted as a foal from malnutrition, she should have topped out at 15h, but quit growing at 13.2h. Cute little mare though. her back feet havnt been trimmed in over 8 months. Borderline slippers, her front feet are trimmed so short that she is soar. her owner never should have put her out on the "back 40." Left her out on pasture over the winter, then couldnt catch her. Took 6 people to coral her. She is staying with me for training over the summer.

Check out her right eye!

This big boy is Red. He has come along way from the pushy, borderline dangerous horse that he was just a couple weeks ago. He is the horse that I was selling for my client. Red is turning into quite the character, now that he has constant human interaction on a daily basis.

Since the light Sussex hasn't given us an egg in over 2 weeks, Mimi the barnie, and Harper, the Ameraucana have really picked up the slack. I've commemorated the occasion of being able to fill my first colorful egg box with a photo. I know this is old hat to most of you, but it's still pretty exciting for me. No matter how many times I collect eggs, I'm always pleased by the feeling of unexpected wealth in my own backyard.
The barnevelder is from CGG. The Ameraucana is from Pips&Peeps. The eggs are just what I was hoping for!

At top is the last egg we got from the Sussex, then the Ameraucana and Barnevelder eggs.

CUTE CUTE CUTE!!
I love these pens btw!!
Did you know you can order a wire top for it on Petsmart.com?? (lol~i accidentally originally typed 'pestmart')

I had seen them briefly and was going to look into it since yesterday I was so paranoid something would swoop down and snatch the chicks when I wasn't looking I wouldn't leave them in the backyard alone for a minute or more.
I'm also thinking of using it to separate the chicks during introductory phase in the big coop. I have a small coop to fit in the run and wanted to wrap the x-pen around it, but a top on the pen would make me feel more confident the hens couldn't get in there. Thanks for the tip Jen - I'm going to investigate!
