Very cute! How old is Gryffin?

Gryffin was 4 years old in April. We picked him up as an 8 week old puppy from Timberline Goldens in Bend, OR. I had gotten the referral from a breeder friend of mine in Ohio. I love that dog, but he is one smart, high energy handful!

What color AM's are giving you those eggs?

Harper is our black Ameraucana. Our other AM is a lavender but she's not laying yet. I had asked Jean which of her AM's was producing good egg color and she brought the black. I'm happy!

I know your on to New topics now BUT I would like to comment on the Boeing workers striking.
Its makes me mad too when they strike every THREE years! they make way more then I do. They need to have a NO STRIKE clause in their contract like we do. I don't think it would be a GOOD idea for Boeing to move everything to N.C. Do you know how many companys count on the Boeing work spending their money here??? My comany sure does. Just think what that would do to the housing market if Boeing left town. Boeing can't have their workers continuing to stop production, but on the other hand if a company is making BIG profits shouldn't the little guy (the worker) get some of that. After all they are the ones producing the product!!
Look at the RECORD profits the oil companies are making. shouldn't that trickle down to the Little guy instead of the CEO's and upper management getting it all????
At my work, we the production people make the product and the salesmen and Bosses in the office get all the bonuses

Never could figure that one out

In the old days all the bosses could do my job if they had too. BUT today NONE of them could and they get the Big bucks

Ok time to walk the dog and get out to my girls

That is very true Ron...the little guy gets the stick.
We here in the PNW must have Boeing, or the economy would suck !!!
More like cease to exist altogether.
But I really wish the spoiled brats would be satisfied!
They are so far behind in production it is a wonder why buyers do not go elsewhere.

I got the 1 oz of broiler max in all my bird's water now, I feel much better.
Excited to see improvements, in fertility, egg size, color, shell hardness, etc.
I will be watching.
As for the birds, as for us, it has been (and still continues to be ) a long winter.
They are more than likely tired of the weather just as we are.
It has been cloudy & overcast for 5 days here, almost dark.
Highs in the 55 range.
Today it has rained off & on and has been windy.
Just now the sun has broke out, blinding sunshine, but will disapear soon with the fast rolling clouds.

Bye sunshine.
Everytime the sun does come out, all the birds go lay out & stretch their legs & wings to catch some rays.
It must be difficult to absorb any what with them covered in feathers.
Guess that is why they strecth out their legs..they all look dead out all over the ground, sprawled out....sun's out again, gone again, out once more.
Bi-polar weather.

So... Im thinking its about time to lower my number of roosters... I have WAY to many. lol Was able to sell two chicks yesterday after the people pulled a no call no show, then decided to show up 3 hours after the appointed time, without calling!

Good thing I was home. Oh well, its done and over with now. But now I gotta figure out what to do with all these cockerals. lol They are growing so big, but I went and checked them, and most have nice size/weight, but hardly any meat yet... These boys are so friendly that they are quite annoying and underfoot. lol

Home with four new chickens, and finally saw Hallerlake's behatted lovelies. I think Tifsbroodybabe's daughter was right, and there are two Roosters, which means I'll have a Splash BLR to sell or trade in a few months when I figure out what looks best.

We just finished the basting stitches between the 1"mesh chicken wire and the hardware cloth on the north side of the chicken tractor, and I came in to take painkillers before trying any other clever tricks.

Photos when we're done, OK?

Here where Im at, it feels like thunderstorm weather. Warm, humid, with electricity in the air. I'm sitting here inside with my curtains closed, trying to fight off a killer migraine. Waiting for DD to take her nap, so I can follow suit. Would like to just curl up in the fetal position and pass out. But I dont see that happening any time soon. This weather is getting on my nerves, but at least with the light drizzle, most of the pollen is out of the air. the dust in my pastures has been knocked down to. So I dont have to hook the hose up to my gigantic sprinkler to ease the dust. Darn horses are hard on the ground.
