Well is everybody surviving the wind? At 11:00 last night they were saying possible gusts for my area of 75. I went over and closed the doors at the stables since the front was closed and the back (wind side) were open. I didn't want that kind of wind going through there since she just had to have the roof replaced after the big wind storm a couple years ago. As I was walking back home I could hear limbs and tops breaking out of the fir trees.
Lucky when we went to bed I told DW put a flashlight on yer night stand and I did too. I woke up at 1:30 when DW's breathing machine went off with the power. Then I had to go out to the shed and get the battery pack-up and get DW plugged in and going again. I had just boiled some eggs before bed so took a couple slices of bread out of the freezer put them on a cookie cooling rack and let em toast on the wood stove while I was making egg salad out of the eggs.

Then I got out my (chicken rustling) head lamp and worked on changing settings in my phone.

3:45 am power back on transfered DW back to line power. Now it must be time to go to BYC for a chicken fix.

I thought I was the only one who did that! Many years ago my XW had a ferret. It bit me in that web tween thumb and finger and wouldn't let go so I bit it on the back of the head. He bit harder and so did I back and forth a couple of times then he let go spun around and got me right on the end of the beak !! I still have a small scar from that. That little weasle didn't get to stay at our house much longer.

Yeah the wind hit my window just right and fluttered the plastic.. I couldn't go back to sleep. On the other hand, I'm enjoying breakfast and coffee at home this morning, something I don't typically get to do!

ETA1: CR - Yeah, I don't put up with much from animals. Be nice and I'll be nice back, be an idiot for no apparent reason and...
ETA2: Same for people!

I'll think about it!!

I am thinking it may be a good day to take the farm truck and saw and go cruisin for wood.

Or you could be lazy like me and just play on facebook all day. I'm union, I need my 7 and a half hour break on my 8 hour shift

Well, I got 4/14.. but since 2 of the 14 aren't quite there yet, and the other just started a couple weeks ago, I guess I can cut them some slack. For now. Otherwise you won't have to rustle, I'll just come throw them in your pen and you can wonder where they came from.

Freeloaders: It's what's for dinner!

We got the wind and the lights flickered a few times but no power out (amazing!). However, my boys (9, 6, & 4) were up half the night "scared." I woke up around 1:30 to find them all in Joey's room with the door closed, watching Home Alone. I wasn't a happy momma. At least there's no school today and maybe they'll sleep in, letting me have some quiet time...

Well, it looked like the seller maybe thought it was packed well, but I could do a better job. There was no bubble wrap or anything. They used egg cartons, put shredded paper inside with the eggs (that was a mess to clean up) and taped them shut, then put the egg cartons sideways in a bigger box full of shredded paper. I could see how they'd arrive safely if the PO were gentle with them, but you should pack them well just in case. You know what I mean?
