I've been "stalking" BYC for almost a year and have just decided to finally sign up for the forum. I'm planning on posting pics of our 3 babies that I'm thinking are all roo's. I really love being able to read about other people's experiences with their flocks and have found useful info with medical care, etc. Now, I'm excited I found a Washington thread! I know cheesy, or maybe just that I'm easily excited

Thinkin wee would probably look like twin brudders by different mudders. I have the same thing going here. And sneazing and throat trying to swell shut. And to make it better I have to go out in the wonderful tall grass and clear shorted electric fence today.

No it isn't, 30 below is cold, as in North (north north) Idee-ho.

Ok.. I have to chime in here....

any temp below is not nice but.....
the higher the humidity the colder it feels the worst it gets.
I lived in Idaho for 4 years...
Been here the rest of my life...
Visited Fairbanks AK in Dec to visit Santa in the "North Pole" with 2 youngins...

-10 in Fairbanks is about the same as -10 in Boise which = about 0F in western soggy Washington.

Yakima... having spent many a weekends visiting grandma when I was a kid.... about in between Boise/Western WA...

There is little to zero humidity in below zero temps.
The air is so cold it sucks the moisture right out of eveything.
Your eyeballs can freeze or dry quickly.
A mini snow storm happens eveytime you open your home's door.
It can be so cold, the air actually sucks the moisture out of the ground, hence hoarse frost and sometimes going to bed at night with a foot of snow, and in the morning...the -30 degree morning...there would be little snow left.

We do have a 4-H Judging Contest in Monroe from 9:30 to 12. I may be able to bale out of it though. DH can take the girls!

Or we could stop on the way home...about 4-ish ?
Cannot stay long, maybe 30-45 minutes though.
