doesn't seem so bad for boys

#1 son is Christopher ...#3 popular name that year
same day same hospital, 3 Christinas, 1 Christine, 1 Khrystylane

also he has cousin, same name, same MIDDLE name, same last name, born a couple weeks earlier

#2 is Brian .... think that was #6 popular name then, including spelling Bryan
and Ryan was like #10

both like their names, claimed to have had no trouble in school

however I went to school with a bunch of Kathys and Lynns and Sharons and Susies and Carols

(Heather, Claudia -- nicknamed Penny, Fran, and I were the only "oddballs")

and they all named daughters Jennifer ......

Assure her you won't have very many. The higher the numbers, the more the damage. Tell her you will reseed the run area when you leave, and replace any plants they kill.

Stalled out again, I see. I am full of angst and grarrr this morning, you don't want to know.

But I'm going to tell you anyway:

1. Used up all my energy yesterday, if you want to call it that, on cow-related stuff. The leased bull has gone off to his new assignations, Harry will be here in a couple of weeks.

2. My hired hand is unable to work because she's injured her hand.

(1 + 2 = no progress made on the Wyandotte coop, again)

3. Also yesterday, and ongoing: my cousin-up-the-hill's younger boy had to go to Children's yesterday for further examinations of "a large mass in his abdomen."

4. I realized this morning that meant I can't assume he's going to be up to hatching the BLRW eggs I've been putting aside.

So, yeah, the biggest problem is not my problem, but there it is.

My goals when naming my sons were 1) easy to spell and pronounce 2) there wouldn't be three others in his classes with the same name.

Since their father is Korean, they had Korean middle names for that side of the family to say.

I've spent my whole life telling people how to pronounce and spell my name.

I have a small incubator I could let you borrow in a few days. This is the last hatch I expect to do this year. It only does seven eggs, but it's dead easy.

Thanks!

Now we just have to figure out the transfer mechanism, so to speak. I'm going to start cycling the older eggs into the eating collection and putting the newer ones in the hatching eggs box today.

And some of us still lapse into error thanks to early training with the other pronunciation.

OH! Last night, when I finally got through to Dr. Sand's number after forty minutes of hitting redial, I ended up with his girlfriend. After repeating my name- not my *whole* name, with my husband's Texas mispronunciation of a misspelled German name, but my maiden name by which he has known me for fifty years- she finally had me spell it.

yup:

S-M-I-T-H

And now for something more chickenish: Elvis is going through that hilarious stage of adolescence when he changes shape and size every time I look at him. Saturday, his legs had suddenly grown so much he looked as if he were on stilts; last night, he was made up entirely of legs and tail. He's also eating more feed right now than all three of his future brides.
