Wow
Kind of dead on here today

Weaveagarden must be doing her farming on farmsville today.

Egg question
idunno.gif

How long can an egg sit in the nest before it is NO GOOD to eat
hu.gif
I just found three that were in the barn (in hay) but NOT in the coop. I know one is less than an hour old. Thats how I found the other two. I followed one of my new chickens to see where she was going. and I know she laid one in the last hour. I know the eggs were laid by one of my new chickens. and I have had them TWO weeks today. so the eggs aren't older than that.
So today I got FIVE WHITE (hear that weaveagarden? FIVE !!) eggs out of FOUR chickens

Well, the answer to your question Mr. Ronnie Crowing Roo is that since the weather is cool, they are likely good. To check, put them in a deep container of water. If they stay sunk they are good. If they float or try to float, I wouldn't chance it.

And I wasn't farming at all. Today was my long shopping day. I try to do that once a month and stock up. Today we stocked up on chicken feed and dog food, as well as chicken produce, but didn't quite make it to the Cindy store..... I guess you can see the priorities in my house. Good thing I have lots of stockpiled organic food around here.

OK I will give this my best shot ( which may not be much). It would be easier if I knew what ya mean about the wafer not being hooked up. The wafer should sit on top of the switch inside and the adjusting screw comes in from the top. Adjusting screw goes into the top of the wafer( the side with the little threaded part, DO NOT over tighten. Is there any chance you could send me pics then I could tell what ya got goin on.
As for the fan Well some people tend to call me a "pak rat". I had a fan that looked just like the pics I had seen for the LG. I showed my fan to eagle and he said it looked just like the LG fan. I made metal brackets that spaced the fan down about 1/2" from the top. I then pushed screws through the top of the LG and put small plates and nuts on the out side. I also made a grille for the other side of the fan so peeps can't get in the fan. I installed my fan blowing up thinking that I didn't want the air blown right on the eggs.
Hope this helps any more ????'s let me know I will try to help ya avoid the frustration I went through.
Rob

Ok this really is not tough. Take a deep breath and relax. If you look inside there are wires that go to a small black piece. That is the switch. Now if ya feel on top of the switch there is a little button, when you push it you will hear a click. Now the wafer (round brass disc) sits on the button on the switch. Then the adjusting screw (rod) comes trhough from the top. Adjusting rod screws into wafer. DO NOT over tighten the wafer on the adjuster.
GO to www.mcmurrayhatchery.com look for part # 2GTSS this should give ya a pretty good idea what the whole assembly should look like.

Hi everybody. I have been caught by the Farmville addiction. I have been reading all the posts, but just not commenting on anything. I did get 2 more chickens last weekend. One is a very nice looking EE, I think that she is across of a Salmon Faverolle, and an Araucana. She lays a very pretty mostly blue egg. The bird is a roo. I didn't think it was really a roo when I bid on him. He is very much a roo. I am fairly sure that he is a Salmon Faverolle roo. He looks a lot like the SF girls that I have. I wish that I could keep him. So far he has only been crowing during the middle of the day, so maybe there's hope that I may be able to keep him.

I had gone to the auction to get some fertile eggs for the silkie girls 3 of them are doing the broody thing, and just kicking them out of the nest hasn't worked for them. So I am going to try letting them hatch some eggs. The eggs were a mix of breeds. I know that some of the eggs will EE's. I don't need any more chicks, so I will need to get them other homes.

So that's what up in my neck of the woods. Christina

Well since ya brought it up this summer I brought the neighbors white silke home and we let her hatch a couple eggs. They were not silkie. I think her roo is BR and no clue who laid the eggs. Lucky both hatched as pullets and recently started laying. One looks like BR and the other looks like a crow no kidding. One of them (I think the crow who has dark legs) is laying an Olive egg. Bad part is they aren't mine they went back to DN.

Also there is now a poultry and small animal auction at the SWW fair grounds (Centralia) every other Sat. Not this week but next. This is the same one that was at Yard birds for a while.

Hey everybody. Come our of farmville long enough to make a little noise over here for a while.

I got 11 for 12 yesterday. It was a late surprise that put me into that category. Very nice. Today.....lots of noise, but only at 6 right now. I am gonna make another visit to the coop after dark and hope for the best.

Where the heck are you all?

Oh, and by the way! It is time to commit and send recipes. Please.

If I can get off my butt I can send a recipe but I won't be going to the party but I would like to share it with you all.

Sounds like a lot of you are where I am most of the time. Farmville! I come on here and read posts then go back to facebook. I wish My Ameraucana would start laying. I keep waiting. And now my Maran isn;t laying due to the fact that she went broody on me. But at least I know she can and will. Well off to Target with my oldest.

Have a good evening!
