Sorry I don't remember if we have anybody in your area but feel free to stick around here and you will have a whole flock of chicken buddies. Just be prepared as things can get moving a wee bit fast on here at times.

The neighbor here has a lot full of chickens...now sure how many total. Maybe 30 or so? I haven't tried to count. I take my little girl and go sit by the fence, and she gets a kick out of sticking stuff in for the chickens. The last time we were here (two years ago), the ground nearby was covered in slugs and snails, so we gave the chickens lots of treats. This year, there are no slugs to be found. Too dry maybe? What would be a cheap goodie to feed them instead? I throw some tall grass to them, which they like (their lot is bare, aside from fallen apples and plums), but I imagine we could come up with something more exciting.

OK so I must (as usual) be behind. So I take it ya are on vacation somewhere other than Seattle. As for the chickens first let me say that I think before feeding them much of anything I would make sure the owner is OK with that. Maybe some cheap grain bread or you can get a big tub of raw oat meal cheap.
