I wonder if Johnson Creek was named after your family. I bet it was. Omak has been having its 100 yr anniversary and showing lots of photos. Been really interesting.

Is Johnson Creek up on the Flats? I never heard there was a creek named after my family, but could be, I guess. I love geneology, but I can't spell it, lol! I'd love to see all the pictures. I don't have many from that branch of my family. I think they were too poor to afford a photograph. I think I have one picture of the 6 kids. Where in Omak are they showing the photos? I wonder if all the birth and death records are still intact from the last 100 years. I would love to get some of them.

You know, I think the farmhouse was on Duck Lake Road. I will have to ask my mom. My in-laws must be very close to you Teresa. They are on 6 Nichols Road. The house burned down about 20? years ago, when mil was Eldora Bjorklund, then they rebuilt it. She was widowed and married Julius Baker, who used to drive a school bus in Omak, but is now 84. He has a brother and a son, but I don't know them.

OkaY, you are so getting my curiosity genes running. Yes, Johnson Creek Rd is considered up on the flat too. There is a ver large drainage creek that is Johnson Creek that runs from Conconully. The state's record creek caught brown trout is from Johnson Creek. Okay, now I need to figure out which end 6 Nichols Rd is....this is so funny. The world is so small. The name Bjorklund is really familiar...I willl need to do some more thinking today as I wake up and have had more cofee.

sure sounds to me like you are kissing up to dump something on us. My kids always come up to me and "Mom...have I told you how much I love you. Mom, I did all the dishes, how was your day. Mom, you look nice today." My response is usually: Love you too....what do you want?

I was going to question and was glad to see THI back on...she must have got some internet connection (duh)....we are all glad to see/hear from her. Is this something you did?

which reminds me, I was going to stop by the local quilt-and-crafts store on my way to drop off DS's stuff
and see if they have any transfers, decals, or yardage of the Abby's Farm design

thinking, since the official bedding is so doggoned expensive, I could at least applique or iron-on some decoration for RFF --- something a whole lot less $$$$ yet still the decor she wants

trouble with babies, they don't mean to, of course, but they WRECK things ... and it's easier on the psyche, if what they damage, didn't cost the earth

which is why I steered away from "cuteness" and went for practicality ... and some of those receiving blankets and cloth diapers are STILL around and usable, 40-some years later

PPP --- any particular design you are looking for, for your baby boy's layette ?

I may have more time to do something for you, this next week will be primarily devoted to reorganizing the house, since DGD Jenelle is a bit of a neat freak

DGS Jordan could care less; and I've not yet met Jenelle's boyfriend who is traveling with them ... but I'm going to try my best to get things semi orderly

oh boy, commotion out in the coop

Phoebe must be in the nest box, and Christina and Anitra (the usual loudmouths) are yelling at her to get out of there, or make room for one or both of them

aw-aw-aw-aw-aw-aw ..... not the egg song, that's for sure

edited to add

I went out to see what the big deal was

the big deal was TWO eggs without shells .. one of which broke open (or was stepped on) ... both laid in the sand in front of the nest box

may have been both from the same hen, who knows?

I scooped up the broken egg, don't want any egg eaters here either (they gathered around and were trying to bill it up)

the other membrane-only egg I was able to pick up whole, very gingerly, and I'll fry it up in a few minutes

since two of the pullets appeared to have just started, day before yesterday, I bet it was a beginners-glitch (it's a little early in the morning, based on when I've found eggs before --- or heard egg song)

meanwhile I finally got DH to bring the bags of sand he bought last week, around so I could give the chicks a "fresh" coop ... it was getting down close to bare-boards in there, and it's harder to scoop when the sand is skimpy
