I'm still on that medicine and still have (mild) contractions....

On the way home from the doctor's appointment, DH stopped in the auto parts store to get washer fluid for my car and I ran into the nail place to get them to shorten & round my fingernails in case I don't have time for a fill this weekend--and on the way out, I noticed a HUGE nail in my tire!

So we drove to the tire store (slowly) and of course I have an oddball size tire which is not in stock. They're hoping it will come in tomorrow but it might be a couple of days...which means if/when I go into labor I'll have to be hoisted into the truck.

I needed new tires desperately anyway but we were hoping to wait until fall....sighs. A LOT of money.

So then we had to wait for my MIL to come and pick us up and bring us home....

Does anyone on here do chicken boarding? We're going out of town for a few days and would love to board our two hens with a reliable chicken family.

I gotta ask - Anyone out mushroom hunting yet?

Today we went for a walk on one of our many trails out here and found a bunch of Chanterelles. Came back with just a couple to make sure they were such (this is my first year even attempting to pick mushrooms) and sure enough they were.

I don't know if people ever eat 'em raw, but I tried them raw and they tasted like chicken.

So, we'll be hunting from here on out.

They could but my poor tires are BALD and pretty unsafe as is. They have like 50,000k miles on them.

I'm out of 2X2s again... at least, I'm out of 2X2s long enough for what I need to use them for. Again.

And I won't have a way to get them until Thursday, earliest.

I am displeased.

Also, how much perpendicular clearance do I need between a roost and an adjacent wall?
