Welcome and congrats on your first shot at showing. Yes please join us at the next show. Well ok I haven't made the leap to showing but will most likely be there selling my metal work. But there will be plenty of us there to meet.

I know there's a few in my area? I know I stumbled into one years ago when I was in FFA at the Chehalis fairgrounds, hopefully someone has information about those! Think it was by Feater Fanciers or something?

Hey, great! I saw your Delaware, she's very nice. I got a tour with my second cousin Beau (his grandfather was my cousin) who was the little boy with the very nice BRB rooster, among other nice birds.

OMG! Already??? Congrats! We'll have to go take a look in our favorite spot, thanks for the heads up.
And should NEVER be eaten raw! The level toxins that are in all wild mushrooms are unpredictable one to mushroom to another. It's very risky especially if you eat more than one.

I had two. Raw.

They didn't harm me at all though. I took the risk because there's not a mushroom out there that's actually poisonous that resembles the Chanterelle, except ones who are yellow yet with different gills, or ones who don't have white flesh, or who aren't solid yellow, etc.

Hi Illia,
It's not that they are "poisonous" it's that all wild mushrooms have toxins. The level of toxicity varies widely from "plant" to "plant" and season to season. It's possible to test 10 chanterelles and get 10 different outcomes. If a person hasn't eaten a particular type of mushroom before their tolerance for it is a total unknown. Cooking reduces the risk, but can still be a problem, for example my DH ate sauteed morels with steak with no problem 3 years ago. A year later it made him sick. Last year he ate 2 small ones, no problem. Repeated it the next day, no problem. The third day he got sick. Chantrelles don't bother him at all.

I'm glad you went unscathed this time.
