OK, the Otters is completed................

Now I have 6 days to start & complete a second painting.
I usually take 4, I am too far behind this year, but oh well.........

to answer more Qs:
Yes I do prints, they are called Giclee (pronounced ZEE-CLAY) and are digitally copied on a huge scanner, and reprinted with water colors.on 100% -140 or 300# cotton rag (from France) just as this painting is painted on.

next, you know my mammoth pumpkin hates cool nights, so THIS weather we are having today is really upsetting him....

Next: The Icelandics I have ARE from the Warden...great birds!
So many flavours!
And Mary is a fantastic person.
I have a grey Icelandic that has a crest and looks like some sort of parrot-bluejay cross, very cool.
Two that are crested & chocolate neck up & partridge colored body..and alot of blondish-partridgey colors.
Hard to classify their colors !
There is a few SC's and a few RC's and several that look to have a CC.
For those of you who do not understand that:
SC-standard comb
RC-rose comb
CC-cushion comb.
Some of these birds appear to have little or no comb at all.........I love them.
Diane (bolddogkennel) has 9 of the 18 I hatched.
The chicks she picked out were chipmunk in coloration when she got them.
Can't waite to see what they turn out to become.
So we will have lots eggs~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Icelandics::: It's like a box of chocolates

OK, back to work, I think I answered all Qs....let me know if I missed any, I have been running scatter brained here and have not "come up for air" as my Mother puts it.
When I paint, I close myself in, incense, soft abient music...ocean waves & gurgling brooks and elk calls, chained to my desk.
Bye guys!!!!!!!!

OH and thanks for all the great compliments on the painting, you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Edited to add: When I can, I will let you know.
You can visit & watch, or if you have questions maybe I can teach you over the net.
There are alot of classes out there given by Grabges, and CC's. and alot of web sites that have step by step instructions including Ball Mason.com and Kerr........the canning Jars guys
wink.png

Start with easy stuff, like jams, and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS to the hilt!!!
Then you can learn to sweet pickle, and then dill pickle.
My folks made their dills the real way in crocks, then jarred & canned them.
High protein foods are the trickiest, with meats being the ones you should not do unless you learn from an expert, and should be pressure canned (in a pressure cooker, not a water bath canner)
I have done a few salmon..it is easier to freeze fish or smoke & then freeze than to pressure can it.
Surf the net & study!!

(just overlooked part of it for you) So here is the english version for the new peeps (sorry) Lavender Rhode Island Red Bantams. I have not seen them but talked to a man who has. He said they are VERY lav. and I know the guy who is making them. Hope this helps.

Yesterday I loaded a bunch of my metal and went and sat on the side of the road. Only had a couple of lookers. I discovered I would have been better off with a bunch of ol'e rusty tools and junk. But I did make a very good poultry connection who I know does well at shows. Did you know Brian Decker lives about 5 miles from me. CL this is the little man you see with the felt hat. from what I hear very tough competition.

Okay? How can a RIR be lav colored? Would they them be RIL B?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But Stumpfarmer and RR would be the experts~~~~~~~~

I would take it all back to the farmer and get my money back.... cows can eat moldy hay but if its really bad I wont feed it to them. some probably do but I dont

Quote:
Mouldy hay is iffy for cattle if it's still damp- dry it's really unhealthy to handle (danger of mycorhizal pneumonia, especially). I'd compost it w/horse manure in a covered pile to heat it up and kill weed seeds.

if you have bare patches in your pasture you could mix it with manure and make a hot mulch, yeah, but it's bad to use hay as a sheet mulch without a nitrogen source, it's like the worst lawn thatch ever.
