Not sure of exact distance or anything, but it takes me an hour just to get to Olympia before heading on up in that direction. It usually takes me several hours when I go to Seattle area. A lot has to do with the bad traffic on I-5, I suppose, but still, I have to figure quite a drive if I go up that way. I'm down in Mossyrock.

Ah, so you're far too - The only difference is that you can go straight up, whereas I have to make the craziest routes around the Olympics and the Puget Sound.

By the way, does anyone here know of any local poultry shows that go on? (anything in OR or past the Cascades is too far for my taste)

I would have liked to go. My husband has issues with me meeting internet people so I don't even think about going to that type of thing. Even if I'd planned on going, though, I'd have had to cancel. I've got a sick kid right now and he's been sick all weekend. I also had to bake a couple cakes this weekend (I make decorated cakes to sell). Maybe if there's one near here sometime, I could make it. I mean, if it's not far, my husband can't get too scared for me. lol

My flock is going to be okay, the vet says it's just a bad case of roundworm... thank goodness I caught it when I did.

I spent most of yesterday depressed that I couldn't come. I am glad though that you all had a good time, and Kim sent out great pictures!

It was wonderful meeting everybody yesterday, I'm so glad we went! Chicken people are cool, and that rooster hanging picture is cute. Thanks Kim!!

Rainplace, glad you figured out what was wrong, I was hoping it was something fixable.

yeah, he could come along except that he is a restaurant manager and so doesn't have weekends off. His weekend is in the middle of the week...

Hi, I'm in MapleValley - I have 2 RIR hens - laying - 1 year old, would like to sell(give) to good home, maybe someone just starting out and wants already laying hens... They lay lovely, tasty med to large, light brown eggs almost every day. I simply have to many chickens and I'm to busy (not unemployed anymore) to keep up with eggs. 1 of them is super sweet, the other not so sweet but if that doesnt bother you... I'll send pics to anyone who is interested. Thanks!
