Hey -- I've not see CCG post in a while. My last posting made me think of her because the birds I have that are molting came from her. They are a bit older than the rest of my flock.

Wow, that is incredibly sweet! You and baby are always wearing beautiful smiles, even through the troubles. Those are some incredible IV bruises! Glad everything came out so well. Audrey's smiles are priceless - I miss that age. I'm currently dealing with a boy who thinks his lifeis miserable because he has a sister, and a girl who wallows in self-pity because I make her do her homework. I think I'd do diapers all over again for those smiles that really make your heart melt.

I have a detailed baby book for Alex's first 3 years, and a much less detailed one for Olivia's first. I said I was going to keep them both up because mom had a detailed book for my older brother, 1 entry plus all the well-baby Dr. visits pages they give at appointments with Ht and Wt. My poor sister has only a blank book with not a single entry or Dr. note. She could have used it as a retro-styled baby book for her daughter.

OK, a recipe to write down, fast, easy & awesome:

Smoked Salmon Chowder

You will need (for a medium pot) 4-5 spuds, peeled & diced in cubes
1 big yellow O, diced
some celery stalks, sliced,
2-5 garlic cloves, crushed & chopped
4-6 pieces bacon, sliced in 1/2" slices
A steamer pot
and a big heavy bottomed soup pot
Milk, however you like (whole, goat, heavy cream 2% or whatever), or half & half
Box of instant mashed tater flakes
1-2 cans PINK SALMON (not the expensive red salmon)
bottle of Mesquite or Hickory smoke flavor (liquid smoke)

So peel, dice and steam the taters
while steaming, brown the bacon, celery, onion & garlic in the heavy soup pot.
When spuds are almost soft, still a bit firm, drain & dump in the soup pot on the now cooked bacon mixture.
Then add the milk, to cover the stuff by an inch or so.
I season with celery seed, salt, fresh black pepper & some crushed red pep for zip, to taste.
And now 1-2 capfuls of the liquid smoke..and taste, add more if you like.
Bring the soup to a boil slowly, stir every so often so not to stick..and add 1 cup of tater flakes at a time, stirring in between & waite a few minutes to thicken.
If too thick, add more moo.
Then open the salmon cans, and add, stir gently to barely bust the meat up, serve with crusty sour dough.
garnish with sliced green o's, or bread croutons or oyster crackers.
Hearty, and sooooooooooooooo yummy & fast to make.

Note: The salmon is tender, so do not stir or handly roughly after it is added or it will mush down & disapear.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!
