Well, got laid off today.
I suppose that I should of entered some birds at the Evergreen show. Didn't think I would have time to deal with it.
Maybe I'll just bring some birds for sale and checkout the other breeders in the area.

Nice to see that you didn't get blown away in your Northwest camping trip CR.

Nice new chicks ChristinaMae. Where did those lines come from. How did you acquire the eggs or did you buy them as peeps?

I will get that recipe for you LOrraine. Cornbread putting. Yea, it was me that made that one.

The vit I was talking about was the poly visol with out iron.
Some times it helps in case they are missing something. But the big help is the tape to the feet (not duck tape

) and for the splint you can use a bandaid and if they have feathers I use vet wrap so it doesnt hurt them when you take it off. I will also make a round thing out of a washcloth for them to sit in to help build strength in the legs that way it keeps them upright. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear about the layoff Eagle2026.Hubby used to work at a place where layoffs were happening almost as soon as they called him back.How do I post pics on this website?I'm having a heck of a time.I want to show off my peeps but I can't figure it out!

Sorry about the layoff Mike. That's a tough one.

WA-4Hpoultry mom, How did you figure out it was slipped tendon? We don't think it is that as it seems to stretch out it's legs.

We could literally see the tendon slipping over the hock, and the leg would bend at the knee joint so it looked broken, but it wasn't. It sure didn't look comfortable to me, but the chick didn't seem to be in much pain and still tried to get around on it. You would never know it today. By wrapping it, it held the tendon in place and it took, luckily for us! Yes, I don't think from what you posted that that is what your little guy has.

BrisingrBubba, does he want large fowl or bantam cochins? I don't have any at the moment, but have over 2 dozen bantams in the incubator. Hatch day is April 2nd. We have 16 Blue/Black/Splash eggs, so I might have some to spare next month. I'll post how the hatch goes and let me know if you are interested.

I'm going to be getting my chicks at the end of the month. I planned on getting them from Reber Ranch. Will there be chicks for sell in Monroe and is it better to get them at a show? Will there be more or less variety at the show?
