Dang! $175 a month?
Room, board, vet bills, mucking and training all for $175 a month?
I boarded horses in 1968, got a stall, a paddock & fed alfalfa 2X a day.
That was it. all for $150 a month, in 1968 !!!!!!!
No training, no vet services..I had to muck or it didn't get done.
You are far too kind to the guy, vacate him!

I feel that $175 is fair concidering that he pays for his own feed, brought in his own sand, and built his own shelter. My sister has her horse here as well, but she pays WAY more than $175 just in all the work she does around here to help me out. If I was supplying all the feed, and shelter out of my own pocket. Trust me. Board would be at the very minimum $250+ extras.

I think the reason this situation raises my BP so much is because I am not supposed to be doing EVERYTHING myself. My Dr. agrees that me keeping my two clients is fine, but she wants me to take it easy at home. IE... No heavy lifting, no riding, no over exertion, things like that. Im also supposed to watch my BP because of my weakened heart.

Oh forgot to tell you. I was sent to a cardiologist yesterday. Ill find out how the echocardiogram turned out on November 9th. I should also find out what sex the little one will be the same day! Only 4 more weeks!

The reason for the Echocardiogram is that during my pregnancy with DD, I had massive amounts of fluid on my heart, and my heart enlarged by quite a bit. therefor I have a weaker heart, and am more apt to have heart issues. Plus Ive been having some major palpetations that last 10-15 minutes each session. and this has been happening 2-4 times a day. Now it is normal to have palpetations, but not for longer than 30 seconds or so... So they are watching me carefully to catch any problems early.

If you've "charged" him fees and he hasn't paid, then you are within your rights to seize the horse in lieu of payment. You have to give him 30 or 60 days notice I think, but if he doesn't pay in full, the horse is yours. If I want that kind of service, it costs me almost $400 a month...

The cheapest boarding stable out here is run by my farrier. Training + self care board is $500 a month, garenteed 4 days training a week. Monthly board for self care only is $250. So yeah. I know what I would be asking is cheap, but he did build his own shelter, and brought in footing for hs horses paddock, plus he buys his own feed/supplements... Im just overwhelmed by the sick horse, the pregnancy, and life in general. Ive been thinking of selling my mare. But would hate to see her go...

Ok Have to take DH into Poulsbo. Ill be back on later tonight.

Thank you. Pic was taken with my cell phone (T-Mobile's G2). I took some with my regular camera too, but this was quicker to post.

My girls at 3 weeks.

Ethel is looking a tad crow like in this picture. The one center back is the one that has the chipmunk markings, Mable. Mable and Hazel (to the right) look like they may have opposite coloring when I look closely at their wing feathers. The smaller black and white one is my runt, Greta. She is getting bigger, thank goodness. Then there is the pushy one, Rhonda, in the front.

Cute chicks! I may have missed it, but what breeds are they? Is it possible that your "runt" Greta might be a bantam?
