hope ya get at least a few hatch.
So rumor has it you might make it to Stevenson too ?? That would be great. Sounds like there is going to be a pretty good size bunch of us. A cool thing about Stevenson is they have lots of tables and chairs set up that people can set at and just have coffee ( if ya drink the nasty stuff) and chat for a bit. I will have a booth with my metal work. Just getting it loaded and am not real happy. I don't have enough but just gonna go with the 80 or so things plus 5 bells I have. A lot of different things from last time and not enough chicken stuff.

Things are a mess I really shouldn't be going but I am commited so will just make the best of it.
HOPE TO SEE YA (all) there.

PNPA Show Schedule

So glad you guys are talking about this. I just came on to post. There are several FIRSTS for this club at the show:
FIRST table top turkey judging
FIRST ring judging of runners
FIRST table top serama judging

I'm bringing 10 (YES
ep.gif
TEN) geese mostly the large toulouse. Can bring a couple nice holderread line embden girls if someone is interested. Bringing sebastopols and embdens to show as well.
Also bringing 13 silkies to show, although most of them aren't completely out of molt and have far too many pin feathers (oi, what a pain!) so aren't up to their fluffy best.
Will have silkies for sale. Pairs mostly.

See you guys there! Calesta's riding with me.

everyone take lots of pictures at Stevenson and get online when you can

wish I could go, but among other reasons, have to babysit this new dog, she cannot be left alone yet

too many things for her to get into, in the house, and locking her in the bathroom is not an option for more than an hour or two (she thinks puppy pads are things to play with and tear up)

locking her outside is no good; she barks nonstop, and she doesn't have a sufficient winter coat to handle outside temps now anyway

Heh heh heh eeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuueeeek

Hired hand can't come today and true to form Candy's grand-chicks are hatching early.

Well, good thing I took such good care of the outside animals yesterday, because today's going to be fun fun fun

GSPs are OK with lower temps than their coat might indicate as long as they have somewhere out of the rain and up a little off the ground; certainly October in Western Washington is fine, as long as she is fed enough. Not that she should be suddenly an outside-sleeping dog, but three or four hours on a dry afternoon will make her less troublesome in the house, too.

I should introduce Abby, who lives next door and prefers to sleep in a dog house on the porch there unless it drops below 20F.

ABOUT BARKING: in my experience, the best way to train a dog out of barking for attention is to praise them when they stop and ignore them when they're doing that horrible high pitched "you WILL pay attention to me" pointless bark. It also works for puppies crying, but I'd recommend getting a lot of sleep the week before you get the pup. All sorts of animal training works best with positive feedback, in my experience.

I feel that $175 is fair concidering that he pays for his own feed, brought in his own sand, and built his own shelter. My sister has her horse here as well, but she pays WAY more than $175 just in all the work she does around here to help me out. If I was supplying all the feed, and shelter out of my own pocket. Trust me. Board would be at the very minimum $250+ extras.

I think the reason this situation raises my BP so much is because I am not supposed to be doing EVERYTHING myself. My Dr. agrees that me keeping my two clients is fine, but she wants me to take it easy at home. IE... No heavy lifting, no riding, no over exertion, things like that. Im also supposed to watch my BP because of my weakened heart.

Oh forgot to tell you. I was sent to a cardiologist yesterday. Ill find out how the echocardiogram turned out on November 9th. I should also find out what sex the little one will be the same day! Only 4 more weeks!

The reason for the Echocardiogram is that during my pregnancy with DD, I had massive amounts of fluid on my heart, and my heart enlarged by quite a bit. therefor I have a weaker heart, and am more apt to have heart issues. Plus Ive been having some major palpetations that last 10-15 minutes each session. and this has been happening 2-4 times a day. Now it is normal to have palpetations, but not for longer than 30 seconds or so... So they are watching me carefully to catch any problems early.

So exciting to know about the baby!
I supplied my own feed & grain & paid $150 a month, I had to much, exercise & all.
All THEY did was provide the place & fix hinges & latches or rails if necessary.
So is HE going to pay for HIS vet bills?
I have never heard of a horse eating sand!

Yes he pays for his Vet care and farrier care. I just have to be at every appointment so I know what is going on. Seeing as how I am the person who is the care provider.
