when were you there?
I just got home a few hours ago, musta missed you again!
And yes, once again it was a great disapointment.
There was only 1 American class bird, and to my surprise, a mottled Java hen, which was almosy completely black and only had a few white spangles on SOME of her feather ends.
She did not apear to me to have yellow soles either, but being the only entry, she will at least get BB, BV.
There were Black Australorps...no other Americans.
No RIR, No Buckeye, NO java, no NH, NO Dellies, none.
Lotsa bantams, in every breed, and lotsa ducks, but hey, this is so close to Oregon.

Now I wish I had entered my little mottled Java hen. It sounds like she could have won.

More than likely, all of mine would have won, and all my Buckeyes would have swept the show, along with the Midget White Champion (

) Turkeys.
Washing a white turkey in a bath is subject of discussion & thought here..do I really wanna ??????????

Shoot I wish he wasn't so far away. I have way of getting wood. I have already made DH share some fire wood with a neighbor. I want a wood stove, but with the economy going the way it is, I don't know if I will be able to get one anytime soon. I just want a small free standing stove.

Okay, so, are these the same chicks I sexed a while ago? (same names) Or do they just have identical names?

They're a little young and the flash on them is pretty hard, so I'm just guessing -

Charlie, Delta, and Golf are boys.

Bravo is a girl.

The rest, not fully sure.

Yep - you looked at them last week, but only four of them. And I could not find the last post so the names may belong to new birds now. Sorrry - the flash is pretty hard

I've been trying all week to get good pics...here's one that may or may not help. I'll try again next week for better photos.

top row - foxtrot, bravo, echo
bottom row - alpha, charlie, golf, delta

Well out of my 6 seramas only 1 hatched.
but I did have 4 lavendar orps hatch, 1 more pipping.
I candled a few of the eggs yesterday just to recheck and I threw out quite a few eggs. I opened them and the age of the embryo looked about 7-10 days old. I candled them at 8 days and all looked good... alot of them look right around that age. No clue what happened, maybe the room temp was just too cold compared to the incubator temp. I dunno, anyway, I do have 4 lavendar orps and 1 pipping...see if it makes it out. Cute fuzzy butts.
