This is a Sheryl Butler pullet, and after a few days I must say she is an angel, very quiet, keeps herself occupied, and sleeps like a baby..and I have washed her poopy feets, days ago after bringing her home.
She has been in my only empty brooder on shavings and has been so clean!
She is so super clean!
I fear to put her outside as per the clay mud I have here she will have dingle balls in no time.
The problem arises that I have chicks pipping that will need the brooder.
I already have the lonely chick in the cabin driving me nuts (this is a small place!)
All the chicks need the brooder.
I will try putting them in with the Silky & watching to make sure she does not harm them.
I do not know how she will react...she may be fine with some 'friends'...but need to sell her, I bought her for $25, which I think is a bargain!

She will probably be fine, possibly even mother, the chicks. She's a silkie, it's one of the things they do best.

I like the whites.

I won that pair from Grady Taylor. I put one or two tickets in. I feel kind of guilty.

I love the wide heads. I've got a thing for nice wide heads on birds.

Thanks for the reminder. I washed my terrycloth robe with a bit of bleach and hung it out to dry in the sun, and noticed later in the afternoon that the ladybugs were everywhere.

Better check my cuffs and pockets, eh?

No ladybugs here, just lots of woolybears!

I know you did. Congrats. Michelle was wanting to get the blood in her flock. she might be interested in buying them for breeding.

TLSG and one of the RSL/EE cross cockerals:

Assorted chickens, including two cockerels who I think have to be Teeny Little Superguy's sons with the lighter of the first two Easter Egger hens:

Sorry about the quality of the shots; I was about 100 feet away because everywhere else outside of the horse pasture I would be blinded by the sun. When they're in the orchard I can get to within 10-20 feet, but when anyone's in the horse pasture they run back to their coop. Don't ask why: they're chickens.

Well, except for the ones that are ring-necks. They were released over the past ten days, and at least two of them are in the chicken run now.

I am making sure a couple serama people will end up with the bloodline. One person got the egg laid at the show, nothing laid since they got here.

Pullet and cockerel being kept separate, put them together for breeding x1 so far.

Nice dispositions.

Here are some baby photos: Orp versus Serama.

My camera kind of washes out the orps color...he is so pretty. I am not sure exactly how the colors are suppose to be (guess it is time to do some research on it), but they are very pretty:

That would be woolie boogers, and we have tons of them, blond, white, red black striped, brown with mohawks on top, and every assorted coloration, going north to south on the road, going south to north on the road, going up the side of the cabin, some coming down, for weeks now!
And no birds will touch them!
