Sorry I am not sure who you are on FB but itreally takes a lot for me to unfriend and you would know if I did. DW can do pretty good with feeding and water I just have to oversee and I do have a neighbor who can pick up feed.
I really don't know if anybody understands how bad it hurts me to have to ask for help. I am supposed to be the helper !!!
I could really use some help with firewood. I have a little here that I could use help splitting and putting in the shed. There isn't much. I do have a splitter and crane to get them on the splitter. Yes there are some big blocks.

I am afraid I don't know how to split wood, but I'll bet my son could, with some directions. He has split it with an axe before, but I don't know what a splitter is, so I don't think he has used one. (okay, so I wasn't raised in the country) I can stack though! Let me talk to the family tonight and make a plan for Saturday. Would Sat work for you?

I am off to meet my walking partner and get some miles in while the sun is out!

What I am talkimg about is a gas powered Hydraulic (sp) splitter. Nothing fancy it's a home built. I will post after today about the wood. I really don't have enough of it to make it worth somebody coming from far away.

Can you remember the PT exersizes they put you through right after surgery? Can you spend the time doing a small set of them twice a day, say ten minutes each time? That's what we have to do when my husband (who had T2 to pelvis screws-and-rods scoliosis surgery plus L6, S1; S1, S2 fusions) is having bad pain, because part of that is always having lapsed into the postures and muscle use that are bad coping mechanisms.

Also, do you have a slant board? I've found that it's the only way to help myself on the really bad days, ten minutes lying on a 15 degree slant and working against gravity. We have one my MIL built for herself, and it's undersized for me (she was three inches shorter than me) but it is a help even so.

You've given so much to your friends and neighbors, they should be lining up to help now but I know how well that doesn't work, unfortunately.

I use solar LED Christmas light in my barn. I bought mine at Target.

Oh that's a good idea too!

Target had nice solar lights last winter; I need to check them, as Fred Meyer's was way above my price point. Biglots is sometimes good for that sort of thing, too.

Your name is tricky, no doubt: it has phonemes which do not exist in my brand of English, and no matter how hard I try I can't hear the difference between what I say and what you say- it's like the cot/caught dialect marker, only more annoying.

LOL, Dierdre is easier to say than phonemes!

CGG - It is so good to see you posting on here again. One of these days when you have some time I'm just going to grab a bottle of something and come out to pour you a glass and visit. Maybe I'll have one of our other BYCer's ride along with me!

CR
so what else needs to be done besides the wood??

TO ANY OF YOU THAT WANT TO HELP. Heres what I'm thinking. Tuesdays are my day off and CR lives just down the freeway from me. About a 2- 2 1/2 hour drive
fl.gif
but whats a 2 hour drive when your going to help a friend and your listening to your FAVORITE "chicken CD" on your CD player

If anybody can get over there before Tuesday Great ! I have used a splitter before. so I can do the wood and any of the heavier stuff. I'm really GOOD at collecting eggs
D.gif
got 85 eggs last week! guess my girls don't know its winter and getting dark outside

So we have a week to figure out who can make it to CR's and on what day. If anybody in the south wants to ride with me on Tues. just stand on the side of the freeway with a sign thats says "Chicken Rustlers or BUST" and I will pick ya up.

CR ya got a coffee pot

Thanks The worst part for me is I hate to bother others for help I am too independant. It is my purpose to help others not to have to ask for help!

You're due for some reciprocation. Wish I was closer.

No I don't have a slantboard and right now not sure if I could even get on one.

Yes they are lining up to help that is not the problem.
