A regular - "across the counter" - MD may not really be studied up on this. Providers specializing in Women's Health Care tend to know a bit more. Google Biodentical. I am on Progesterone. They are considered compounds that are made for your body. There are only a few pharmacy's that "make"/"produce"/ "mix" it. The one in Moses Lake (509-764-2314) and I think in Idaho or Montana. I get it mailed to me. You may want toi call the Professional Pharmacyin Moses Lake and ask them regarding a provider in your area whom you could talk to. I really like it...I have been on it for a couple of years now and it has helped my hot flashes and night sweats. Oh, and mood swings are a bit better (don't ask DH this though).

Sounds better than Premarin (and at $118.00 a month!) which is congugated estrogens...not good for the heart and makes ya fat!

OK, just checking that you guys understand what premarin is right? Mare urine? and there is a huge controversy about how the horses are treated. They are bred and foal and collect their urine and the foals from these mares are discarded. Just making sure you know this. Not going to start anything.

I haven't checked on the other discounts but I just signed on with our new Wilco store as a farm. Just ordered in bulk 40 bags of Purina Flock raiser for $15.49 a bag and no tax. Once the order comes in I'm going to see if I can mix the pallet for next time. Layer would be a lot less but not using it right now. Now that I get the farm discount on Purina, Excel feed is comparable but since my local Excel feed provider won't take my tax exempt info Purina is the best deal and I've heard Excel uses inferior quality ingredients even thought the analysis comes out close to the same.

I live in rural Eatonville.

I buy organic layer pellets from the Graham Feed Store @ $23.74 for a 50/lb bag and organ chick starter @ $14.72 for a 25/lb bag.

Sometime's I go out to King Feed or Del's, but they're not on my usual errand routes and I'm not going to drive extra miles out of my way unless the savings on the feed makes it worth my while for time and gas. The gals usually free-range it on chemical-free acreage and are only supplemented with the feed, fruit and veggie scraps, and BOSS.

I stopped buying organic feed almost a year ago when I paid over $30 (including tax) for 50# bag of Payback layer. Sorry - but at those prices I'd have to sell my eggs at $7 per dozen just to break even!

Well my man who was supposed to call me yesterday about wood failed. So last night I called him, no answer so I left a message and again my phone #. I told him I need to get this done. By 10:00 this am no return call. Ooops sorry buddy ya just missed that bus. I started looking again and found a new ad that was a better deal and they were ready. I was pulling out and the other guy called. I told him well you didn't call me and didn't return my call so I moved on, I told you I need to get this done. I went out there and the SCAREY guy and his teen DD had that truck loaded in about an hour 10 minutes. They didn't have enough fir to finish filling my truck so he ended up finishing of with maple. I was luck I called when I did. While they were loading my truck another guy showed up wanting a pick up load and then a guy Puyallup showed up wanting 3 cord of maple. I wish I would have had my camera with me. On the way out there I saw the local Elk herd of about 50-60 with several nice bulls. Less than 100 yds from the hiway. Then on the way back they were all laying out in the sun.

Sooo egggcited! I got my first olive egg today from olive eggers! Cross of a BCM and Ameraucana. Finally, been waiting for like FOREVER! I'll try to get pics tonight.

Annnnd, not sure but I switched to Purina Flock Raiser 20% about 3 weeks ago when everyone was in a molt but the POL pullets and now I have this olive egg. Could be a coincidence since they are at POL anyway and I have lights. No plug for Purina here but SEEMS all are doing better on Flock Raiser and I'm not as worried about thinking I need to add vitamins in the water either. My newly laying Delawares, Split Lavender Orpingtons and Blue Wheaten Marans are all at an egg a day or very close. I do give them oyster shell since Flock Raiser doesn't have the extra calcium like layer but but love that I can feed everyone the same feed. Once my layers are done molting I will probably switch to layer for them.
