I think he wanted to take a couple of mine...

I put three wheelbarrow loads worth of leaves in my chicken coop/run today. I wish I had a decent deciduous tree nearby so I could get more. The chickens are having a blast in there.

Oh, and I got my incubator today. Now I'm itching to hatch some eggs, and I don't even have a good place to keep a brooder now that's nearly winter.

Sounds better than Premarin (and at $118.00 a month!) which is congugated estrogens...not good for the heart and makes ya fat!

OK, just checking that you guys understand what premarin is right? Mare urine? and there is a huge controversy about how the horses are treated. They are bred and foal and collect their urine and the foals from these mares are discarded. Just making sure you know this. Not going to start anything.

I never heard they were discarded, that they were allowed to nurse & the urine collected in a bag, and the mare free ranging.
I researched this in the 60s when birth control pills came out...all birth control are PMU.
I went to facilities, and they were as they said.
Have you heard otherwise?
So, where do they get Progesterone ???
Oh maybe I do not want to know!

Stallions?
Bulls?
The same mares?

Lost a Rhode Island Red to a hawk, it couldn't carry it away though. It was a really big bird but it didn't have a red tail like the ones I normally see so maybe it was an young eagle, not sure. It was more like black or brown mixed with white but no solid white. Cream under side. I'm not really happy either way. Guess no more letting the chickens out in the yard, we're only on 0.40 acre. I went out to get the mail & heard the crows going nuts & a big bird flying around the trees. Ran in the house to get my 7yr daughter to help me put away the birds. Hawk gone. Chickens didn't want to come out from under the steps & the big rhodie. Once in the coop they went into a sulking mood, most went up top to hide. I could only find 1 of my 2 RIR's so we walked around the yard. Found it near the trees in the leaves, close to the fence. Was sad, hole in neck. Would have rathered the hawk take it off & use it then leave me with something I can't use. If my husband had been home then he would have processed it but not me so into the garbage it went. Couldn't bury with our dogs & dogs in the neighborhood on this small of property. My daughter was sad but wanted some wing feathers for a memory project of the bird that died lol, I pulled some feathers for her. I would never have done that as a kid lol. She's totally like her dad.
