Hi Christina,
I am part of the Seattle Urban Farm Co-op and we do a group order of 2 brands of feed. One is the standard over here from In Season Farms Ltd 27831 Huntingdon Rd Abbotsford, B.C. V4X 1B6 Phone: 604-857-5781. This is what we all used for a long time and never had any problems, to my knowledge. The ingredient list for the ISF organic blend is Wheat, Barley, Rye, Peas, Lentils, Soy Meal, Flax Meal, Sunflower Meal, Lysine, Methionine, Phytase, Vitamins, Calcium, Salt, Choline and Rock Phosphate. It is a bit chopped up and probably better for weaker birds as it is very easy to digest. We have, many of us, recently switched to an organic and locally sourced feed from Scratch and Peck run by Diana in Bremerton. She is a great person and really believes in what she is doing. You can call her at 360-981-8597 or email her at [email protected]. Her feed is much more whole grain and is great for the chickens. It must make them work harder for it, but they love it. Her feed contains wheat, barley, oats, peas, organic corn, whole sunflower seeds, fish meal, kelp, nutritional yeast, vitamins and minerals. You can see the oyster shell in it, as well.
I would recommend either of these two, but I would like to hear what others have to say!
Aaron
