Seramas seem to be like Yorkies in that as far as they are concerned they are Full Sized, thankyouverymuch, and fully able to hold their own in any company.

X2....the chihuahuas of the chicken world is what I have always said!!
They are addicting, and hysterical too!
They have the cutest little crows.

I think they turned out pretty well. I got better as I went along, and saw what looked more or less effective.

Fabulous! Maybe you could organize a class - not for free, mind you. Charge for what you've learned!
On another note, if Dottie doesn't quit trying to sleep in the tree above the coop, I may be chaging her name to Zachaeus.

I ended up clipping the Spitz wings to keep them home.

So sorry 4312 - couldn't help it. That was an awfully cute typo...

And YES those are cute pictures! I love the lav orp babies and the contrast between them and the Serama is beyond words. Love how the Serama is just wiggling in and out between "big" orp legs. What fun - looking forward to seeing how all of your chicks grow.
And Adam is a very handsome man - he does know how to strut his stuff, doesn't he?
You never have to warn me about averting my eyes to chick pics. Always love them. DH thinks I'm crazy because I'm always reading about other people's chickens... Sheesh.

Chihuahuas..yep that is what I call them too. I have just fallen in love with them. So much machoness in such a little package. But such sweethearts too. The DH is very happy that I have narrowed my chicken "rearing" to two breeds....Orps and seramas. Of course I do hope he realizes that even with 2 breeds...you may have more than just 2 roos and 4 hens...hmmmmm....that ain't happenin'

One night last week mommy Juno decided that all the roosts in the big coop must belong to her and her chicks...bullying the pullets to the lower nestboxes. The next night all four pullets were about 10 feet up in the cedar - higher than I had ever seen them! They must have decided the tree was better than getting beaten up by Juno again. I had to use DS's critter net to pull them out of the tree and put them in the coop. Hoping this will be impossible once they get a bit bigger...never had this problem with the other girls!

Is there room for more roosts?

we went and saw Gaelic Storm last night..
If you have never seen them (or even know who they are) I highly recommend them. The whole family (including the Teen Boys) were VERY entertained. They played at The Neptune in Seattle--awesome small venue with open seating. So the boys were able to go down to 'the mosh' pit and get some neat pictures. A super relaxed fun show.
