Aren't you up early? Thought you were up till 2 am bidding on eggs?

OK, keep you posted on times.

Yup. I didn't get to sleep until 4:07 am. I had to still finish the book that I had started earlier yesterday morning.

I bid on some Sizzle eggs, and a lot of 24 plus Silkie eggs. I have already been out bid on the Sizzle eggs, so I am not sure I will bid on those again. I really don't need to hatch any eggs at this time of the year.

DH will probably do the

What a goof!

I make chicken enchiladas with a sour cream sauce. I can send you the link. I also make a chicken in white sauce. It has Parmesan cheese in the sauce. It is cheap and very filling to make. Both dishes make a lot and freeze very well.

Yes I have a local winery that doesn't use grapes. She does razz, blue, black beries, apple, cran, rhubarb and many others.

I think you can make wine out of just about anything. I have a recipe for spinach wine. You need a still to make vodka, and other "hard" alcohols. The only problem with frozen berries would be the quality of the fruit, which will effect the end taste. But it will work.

Well, she ended up sleeping 10hrs, 52 minutes!

She woke up, ate 4oz, looked around, played a little bit and then went back to sleep about 10am. She's still asleep. I'm guessing she may be entering a growth spurt of some sort....She does almost sleep through the night...she usually goes to bed about 8pm, wakes at 2am and then around 5am.

A lady and her HS son are coming at 2pm to pick up the white Houdan roo.

I hate to have such a sweet (and rare) rooster go but I don't have the females I need for him without AI'ing a bunch of bantam Houdan.

We got s skiff of snow yesterday and it's really feeling like winter out now...

I got some more of my birds moved around and ordered three more conditioning/isolation/emergency cold weather cages. I found them for super cheap (three for $70) and they are easily to clean, work as cages for transporting to shows, too...after the Houdan leaves, my bantam Favs will be moved into his cage for the winter.

Then I have to sell a few Creve laying hens (anyone??) So I can move them around and get my Sumatras put into the Creve's old pen. Whew! LOL

Im thinking I might just do a good hearty home style baked chicken. Garlic, thyme, poultry seasoning, salt peper, olive oil, red potatoes, onion, and carrotts with a nice thick gravy... Im gonna make DH make the gravy, because I hate making gravy! lol

edited to add
I really need to not worry about WHO is coming over, and just fix a meal. lol I rarely completely botch a meal, and hardly ever have anyone complain...

Because it is in a pot, it will not handle temps that low. When a tree is in a pot the roots are much more vulnerable to freezing. The other thing is that in summer it will bake the roots. So it much better to plant a tree in the ground.

Yeah I told my DH I want it planted. lol But his argument is that it's a $200 tree, and he doesnt want to leave it hre when we finally do move. So I sudgested we plant it at moms... Thats a no go as well... So bring it in under cover of the porch, or should I put it in my way to cramped as is shop? lol Ok so potted jap. maples are a bad idea... Especially in full sun... I think I'll bring it at least up onto the porch and wrap the pot in something to help keep it from freezing... Is it to late to put it into the ground? Should I wait until spring? Can you tell Im not a very good tree person? lol

You would be better off planting it where you are, and then digging it up when you move. It's is rarely never time to plant a tree in the ground here. The only time it would be to late is if the ground froze solid. I can't remember it ever truly freezing here in the NW. If your shop is un-heated it would be better there. The tree still needs to be cool. A lot of the plants I have around really prefer to be outside during the year. They suffer when I have to bring them inside. It's is just to warm in the house for some of them.

As for your DH, tell him that his 200.00 tree is much more likely to die in the pot than if it would planted in the ground. My grand-baby tree is a Japanese Maple. It is so much healthier and happy now that I wash the chicken poopies into the space it is planted in. I do understand about not wanting to leave somethings like trees behind. My maple is a baby from the memorial tree that my Mother in Law planted right after Kaity died in 1987. So just about the time Kait would have possibly started having children of her own, the tree had a baby.

It is also a very well behaved grand-baby.
