Mine didn't drop off until last week. Almost all my eggs are sold through the co op and things have slowed there for the winter since produce availability has dropped. Going to send out emails to everyone reminding them we still have eggs so hopefully I'll still get them sold.

yeah sounds like a plan.
I was thinking do people not eat eggs in December?
I almost have finished my new road sign, & will snap a pic to show you all....gotta go out & move started chicks OUT & the 1 mo old to the next pen with outdoor access...they be getting very rowdy..which will make an open brooder for the next hatch on the 12th..........
never a dull moment.

Mine didn't drop off so much as they stopped laying until a few days before Xmas. Now I'm up to a dozen a day, and more on the way!

Mine never stopped laying, in fact after the Show, started getting even more eggs....up to 25 a day!
And that was with the older hens still moulting.
What DID drop off was sales....for some reason I hardly sold any eggs!
Where as normally I cannot keep the buyers supplied & always running out to the point where we have to go without eggs!
But since the middle of December...sales have slowed to about 1 doz a day or less....so I am making sea food quiche for dinner!

I don't know about your area, but up here, where I am, lots of people have "winter" homes or cabins, and they go away for the holidays, so I didn't mind that we didn't have many eggs. I did mind at Thanksgiving, when family came and I had to buy some - ugh!

Depends a lot on terroir.

By the way, I have a freezer full of the good stuff which I am willing to trade for poultry (preferably live).

My sales haven't dropped off much. But I have one guy at work that wants to buy EVERY egg my girls lay. he shares them with his two sisters. so when I get too many I just take them to work.

How much does EVERYONE sell their eggs for???????????????? I only charge $2.00 a doz. but I only sell to friends. I don't need to make money off my eggs. its my hobby and it covers my feed and bedding. I like to give my friends a good deal if I can. I will be raising my price to $2.50 this July.
