I stewed a Cornish yesterday to make broth, then made into soup today with black eyed peas, Ham, boned the bird, and various vegoes & spinach...very brothy.
The Conebwead goes with nicely !
I am always cleaning poop boards, the board with sand in it under the roosts where all their poop collects.
I do that every other day.
The coop floors here are shavings, totally cleaned out & replaced about 1 X a month.

So far, out of 20 eggs, 10 are out, and today is pip day!
There is about 5 more pipped.

Cold here...about 32 overnight.

What is this I hear about snow ?

Mornin' all!! Just had to share my little bit of excitement today...I just took my very first SPLASH bantam Faverolles chick out of the hatcher!!!

Snow this weekend! They are saying Sunday maybe a few inches, and possible snow/rain showers thru next Wed!

I'm excited because we haven't had any yet. And then winter can be over and spring can come, right?

Well we just heard Jack go off with a snarling growling MAD barking & jumping up & down....he saw a dog in the driveway & went ballistic...and all the free ranging chickens that were out with him ran for cover !
DH grabbed his pistole & went down the driveway to see...........
That was exciting.
jack is on the job!
Not bad for a 1 1/2 year old pup dog!


I have to get off the puter & get some work done.
Have Pettec's logo to finsih, poop boards to scoop & lots of babies hatching out!

Clover:: Awesome cute baby!!

I am tired of winter & very restless & want to get on building the house.

Oh, and my donation drive is going slow so will probably go on to the end of the month or longer...
