dang.. forgot the quote thingey.. this is for you teresa! About your Serama eggies.

Nice pics your daughter took T.. was quite the winter wonderfrozenland here :p

Hi Jen. I thought about it. truly did. But I have some 20 eggs coming from Laura Castle and did not want to tie up the incubator. I just feel so bad for Martha. She looked so confused about why they were cheeping and no chicks were coming out. She is totally NOT broody this morning...so she will go back out to the coop. It has been too long for the eggs by now. There are only 4. Poor Martha. I was hoping she might go broody again and I could stuff babies under her when the eggs from Laura hatched. Well, live and learn I guess.

It is a blue merle dog and a lookalike splash chicken.

Quincy would fit in at our house, we have two merle Aussie boys.
Very nice. Does the one with white have 2 blue eyes? Can't really tell.

We do the same thing on the way down and take our time coming back. Our best time from Gig Harbor to San Diego was 19 hours but we usually average 20.

OMG - too funny!!! Having a hard time imagining driving straight through, especially in snow and ice. No wonder your hubby saw gremlins - it's a wonder he didn't see werewolves!
We BYC'ers DO eat well. Gosh - this thread alone gets my mouth watering on an almost daily basis. I think I'm lucky that those Japanese eggplants are readily available here and are not horribly expensive. I promise that if I come up, I'll bring a big bag of them just for you. They were that yummy!

I triple a get together! We would have so much fun. I eat Ciopinno sp? too. My girlfiends and I do the same thing . We each bring a jar of Ciopinno and a lb of seafood. I do however have to pick out everything but the crab, shrimp and scallops. I don't do clams.

X2 - wouldn't that be fun??? I LOVE to team cook...especially if there's wine involved

Oh, for the record, I'm making stir fried tofu with sliced portabellas and Japanese eggplant tonight. Tomorrow night's gonna be roast ham with all the fixin's. Doesn't beat CL's full on thanksgiving feast or CGG's gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce, though...

Been meaning to say so glad you made it through the storm ok. Dads are amazing. Mine saved me so many times.

And everyone else too. Always late on these things but I'm so happy we all had each other through this storm even though we couldn't get out of our houses to help we had support through BYC and the phones.Amazing those chicks hatched in RRF pockets. Thats dedication!
LOVE IT!!!!!! We need more ducky smiles on BYC!!!!

Ooop's silly mee ! I fergot to post that I got a message late last night from the IMPish one. He has made it through the storm "with out having to eat the neighbours". Said he has wood heat, gas water heater and gas cooktop. He said the worst part was boredom with no TV or internet.

Yes that is great. She was so ready to give up on them early on and each hatch just cheered her on. She seemed SOO amazed when they started hatching!

Hey CGG a while back you posted an article from a guy about small scale farming and it told what he claimed could be made farming one acre. Do you still have a link to that ? PLEASE

ETA You could e-mail or PM it to me.
