Welcome.

My suggestion is to put your coop together in sections using screws, so you can take it away with you when you move.

I have hatched eggs from Zgoatlady & she does have deep dark brown layers.
Thick membrame & difficult to hatch...but if you are ready for them it is easy to help the babies a little

One pullet is going to FlyRobinFly, with this, her egg: (the deep dark ones)

I don't have a hard time hatching them, I never have. I do 30% to no more than 40% humidity than the last 3 day go to 65% humidity. I do have to help a few once in a while put not really that often.. I think Marans are tuff little chicks..

The thing everyone will tell you is make sure you make the coop bigger than your going to need. We all start out small and than add.

Kinda makes you wonder why the dentists charge so much. Makes sense to go the football players route. They make cheap molds all the time! Stupid medical profs want to rob you blind, suck you dry etc. just like every other company in this country.

Weeeellll... there are greedy, unethical people in every profession, and I cannot deny that.there are dentists who fit the description. We see new patients from time to time who are comimg in for a second opinion who have been told they need thousands of dollars of dental work, and my dentist will agree with none or a small percentage of the recommendations. Of course these people were suspicious of the first dentist to begin with, or they wouldn't be asking for a second opinion. But if you reread my posts (which are lengthy, don't blame you if you don't want to slog through them), you will see that I had several no-cost and low-cost and no-profit-to-the-dentist suggestions. And basically I am quoting my own boss to the letter on these. This is what she tells our patients. Ultimately, many of them end up in the higher cost solution (custom made bite guard) because the other fixes didn't work. But if the less expensive things work, we are all happy. If a dentist, or any medical professional, is pressuring you into the highest-cost option without giving you alternatives, maybe you are not seeing the right practicioner. There are honest dentists out there. I am lucky to know this first-hand.

Too tired to catch up now. I clocked in at work at 9 am and clocked out at nearly 10:40 pm, and have worked at least 12 hrs per day with not much time to grab a bite for lunch. I just run next door for teriyaki takeout, then eat a bite or two between clients if I get a chance. Why does everyone get their taxes done at the same time?

Hopefully tax season will be over soon and you can enjoy your chickens and life again! I also hope all this work means more $.
