Well, I had just tried to go to bed, but couldn't get comfortable, so I got up so I don't wake my husband, he's been getting up at 3am all week, but, I'm getting tired again so I will let you peeps go!
Nite nite!!

Quote: OMG!! THANK YOU! I pm'd you. Thank you thank you.

Pasado's is a dubious organization which goes about trying to legislate how you should keep and maintain your pets when they themselves are hardly "experts".

Lord have mercy you should SEE the replies I got from CL when I asked about a setting hen... unbelievable.

I think its to cold she said it was 22 when she picked them up I think. I also think she got alot of tiny chicks.I think they said they were a rainbow egg mix of bantam's. I didnt order from McMurry but I think they ship most of the year. But over half your order seems a little excessive to me. I would be so heartbroken. She said she called and this time she is just getting her money back. Maybe ordering sometime this summer. Where do you get your cornish x's? The feed store?

THANK YOU everyone!! Classie showed like a million bucks! getting a placement at westminster is really something, minpins get overlooked int he group ring a lot. they are not fluffy or sculpted and groomed like the rest. very very proud for her owners and handler. Classie is not done trust me lol

Congratulations on such a wonderful honor!!! That's outstanding - I can't even imagine how excited you and Armando are!!!

BS !!!!!!!!!!! They made no mention of the man in the pink hankie who cornered the suspect ! ?????  :tongue   The Pink Avenger !!!!!!!!!!!

Um, yeah! What about the guy who got the bad guy? I'm not liking the local coverage of the event right now...unless maybe local law enforcement didn't want to release that info?

Last year I had an EE go broody when she was not quite 6 months. I tried breaking her of her broodiness for months, and finally, I gave in and got 4 fertile eggs from CGG. She hatched 4 beautiful BCM's in June!

Holy cow! Never thought they could go broody that young! And so cool that she got to hatch out those chicks. At this point I don't think mine is broody. She has two eggs there currently but hasn't been on them all afternoon (after I got her out once again) and was sleeping up on the roost this evening. The boys are REALLY active - perhaps she's trying to stay away...

Now that is entirely true, but I can't fit 52 birds in my freezer without using a blender :sick

Eeeewwww. Just sayin' :)

Eeeek! Well, I've got mostly black hair, but there's some sun-bleached red ones in there, does that count?

since my red is fake and colored over my brunette, I guess that makes me one of those untrustworthy types

Quick question... is it normal when you order chicks from a hatchery for over half of them to die?

Did they arrive dead? I have heard that if you order in the winter, this can be a problem. I have only ordered 6 hatchery, and in their first year three died but not in ways I can blame the hatchery for (neighbor dog, egg bound and a bobcat). Most of my hatchery birds are from feed stores. I have (or had) a total of 18 hatchery birds and have been happy with them all. I prefer buying my chicks from people I meet here, and all those birds have been great too.

She hatched in August, started laying at about Christmas, went broody late January and hatched the eggs in June! You'll know when one goes broody. My usually nice hens will hiss at me, and once every few days they will run out of the coop to let go a massive, festering, and incredibly smelly broody poop! First time you see a broody poop, you will be searching your coop to find where the guilty elephant is hiding .... and the smell

Um a lot were DOA. The second batch she got she opened it up and she said their were bodies everywhere. The rest died with in a few days. The first batch she got was a week ago. She got the second batch today. The other ones were the same many DOA or very week and die shortly after. Very sad here is the thread if anyone wants to read it. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/626647/theyre-heeeeeeereeeee#post_8364072
