Busy day today! Dusted all the birds, cleaned up the basement and set up a washing station. We did wash Baxter today as he was really needing it. We may wash him again Wed/Thurs when we do the rest. Also power washed all of our animal crates.

Oldest DD and I are all set for the show. Younger two, don't seem to know who they want to bring. I told them I need to know by end of day tomorrow so I can mail it out Monday morning! They all want to do showmanship though. Does anybody know, if they have to enter a bird into the show to do showmanship? I know that they cannot enter the birds that they will actually use for showmanship. But do they have to have one entered to be cage judged?

Thanks I did see this. I was unaware she was getting rid of them. I thought she was just saying that she had gotten some from you. I will have to ask. I only have room for 2, preferably pullets since I cant have Roo's here.

Ok... Anyone up for telling me I am right? I asked over in my neck of the woods, but since everyone is out and about enjoying this warm weather, cleaning coops, taking apart winter runs... No one has really confirmed my suspicion on leg mites... I think my roo has a case, or he's developing a serious case of dry leg... here is a pic... Am I right? Leg mites?

On leg mites: I mix vaseline with a splash or two of "Melafix" avalible at Wal mart or other fish/aquarium places.
melafix is Melaluca.....tea tree oil.
So get a gob of vaseline, do a dribble of Melafix, MIX,, and then rub into the birds' legs, hard under every scale.
Repeat every couple weeks.
