I may or may not be joining the shoulder problem peeps. Have an appt at 3:30 today. My shoulder has been sore since January, but this week it has really increased in pain. I've been seeing a chiropractor since Dec, and he thinks it's just a result of working out all the many issues in my back, but with the pain this week, I thought it best to have a my reg Dr have a look see at it. I can surely sympathize with those of you having shoulder pain. Monday, I couldn't even push the shopping cart using that arm!!! Major bummer. I'm hoping it's nothing major.

ok, question. I have 7 chicks, hatched on 12th, so now 10 days old. Four of them have long tail feathers, 3 have barely anything. They all have good wing feathers. So, the ones with no tails yet, are they the "boys"?

Some people will tell you that yes, the slower growing tail feather's means boys. However, it doesn't work for all breeds, similar to wing feather sexing. Take note of what you got going on, and what they pan out to be. Next time you hatch the same breed, take note again. You will soon learn if this is a sign you can count on or not.

AHHH!!! Chicken math strikes again! lol My numbers are about to jum from 7 hens to 17!!! Good thing I have a 12 year old brother whos cleaning and collecting eggs for me! lol I might actually be able to start selling eggs to my neighbors again!

Watcha gettin'?!?!?!
Can't leave us hangin here wondering!!!!

ok so i guess today is the day. One of my cornish cockerels is foaming at them mouth. Time to butcher. I have never done this before and I am nurvoius. I was hoping my husband would be home... Oh well wish me luck guys.

OK, well now I'm clearly here alone and talking with myself! LOL!!!

Going to go out and work on pens as long as the sun holds out. We did a big coop swap-er-ooo last night. Moved the 5 bantam Blue/Black cochins into the smallest coop we have that I had temporarily put my 3 new Orp hens from CCG in. Moved the Orp ladies into the pen the cochins were in, and added my existing pair into the flock. So now have 4 black split Orp hens/pullets with black Split Orp roo in there with them. And moved the BLRW flock which is my biggest flock of 8 birds and 2 more pullets growing out that will be added soon, into the coop I had my Lav Orps in. The old BLRW pen needs work, so will stay empty for a bit as we work on it, but plan to make it my olive egger pen when we are done. It is the biggest mud pit of them all. So we are going to put a roof over the run and try and work on the drainage issue a bit.

Enoy that sun guys!!! We are so due for it!!
