Makes sense, but it still made me giggle, since I name almost everything (cars, chickens, computers..)

meee to! My jeep is named Joe.. now all my friends call it that too.. cracks me up. EVERYthing is named at our house.

ya what a morning! was feeling a bit better, in a better mood and then I discover he was gone!!! Just praying one of the blue maran hatching eggs is a cockerel! Not the same as my BC Maran but still.....

Sad morning, went down to feed the babies and Duke my Maran Roo (my ONLY roo) is gone.......Searched and searched, no sign of him....no feathers either!!! I am ticked and sad all in one....

So sorry!!!!

Let me know if you want another roo....we have a few extra's around here and probably more to come in my current hatch!

We had one blue/black orpington hatch last night before bed and woke up with two lavender orpington eggs pipped!!!

If not, I might have a FBCM chick that's a cockerel. I have 2 marans chicks that are about a month old and one is feathering out a lot slower. Based on my older marans, that looks to be a sign of a cockerel. I have a 2 month cockerel, smokey, but he's going to be the head roo in that coop. He's a nice boy. I can see why you'd miss Duke.

*hugs*

It's funny, I was never suppose to bring a roo home but I did and my man fell for Duke (named after his KTM Duke Duel sport). he wa awesome, one of the most beautiful I had ever seen! FBC Marans are awesome! I fell in love with this breed and now to lose my favorite.....actually I have lost 2 Marans this month, I think that is what makes it so difficult....

Wasn't it you that told me not to worry yesterday!! I have also been told this week it's not over til it's over by WA-4Hpoultrymom, so now I am saying it to you, he might be in a tree somewhere waiting for the perfect time to come back and surprise you! let's hope for that too and I know what you mean about falling in love with them, especially the Marans. But they all have a way of stealing our hearts! we can say at least your son didn't fall down the stairs with a paintbrush in his hands (you know the rest) last night!! LU!!
