Does anybody want day old runner ducklings?? Rare colors.

PM me.
So I was just testing my "new" 300+ capacity bator I got last year and thought my eggs won't be 100%. Or the bator is not quite ready. Or I was not remembering how to incubate...or something will go wrong...
No it was not hatchititus...no no...

I am innocent until proven guilty.
Well...28 days later...them eggs are peeping, hatching and just popping out like

Last count, I have 11.
Guess the bator works, and the eggs are good. LOL

TONI...I dunno how but I think I gotta a black one. Go figure? The dads are BROWN!! So are the moms.

I bathed Mona this afternoon. I don't know how you folks who show your birds do it! I found it to be quite the ordeal, although it is kind of sweet how they get sleepy in the water.
Thanks for sharing the photos, and hopefully it won't be something you'll have to do regularly, although maybe it would be different if you had help.

Aw, she is sooo cute =) I've never had mine fall asleep - she must have been so happy!

About the poo-walnut...totally gross...but the only way to get rid of them without cutting is to get rubber gloves smash them between your fingers. They will break up and you can spray the rest off. Yuck!!!

I hope you don't the issues we do - likely not as our girl is sort of rumpless but has these weird almost-a-tail-feathers. So, not completely rumpless - mostly funny

she's also top-heavy and cannot get on & off the roost by herself. But she lays nice, big blue eggs. Worth squashing walnuts every now & again I guess

I've got two cochins to do that to after tax season - not looking forward to it! They roost too close to the wall in the Eglu, despite having lots of space available to them. Their tirds slide down the wall and stick to their feathers. The bantam cochins are cleaner and always seem to aim between the slats where they should go, so they have nice clean fluffy-butts! If I ever lose any of the hens from my LF coop, the big cochins will move in there with the other big birds. My flock seems to be quite healthy, so I don't anticipate that happening any time soon. I do have one other poopy-butt hen - my Light Sussex. I don't know why, but she has never used a roosting bar, she has instead claimed one of the nesting boxes as her private bedroom. She was looking so pretty after her molt, but already her new white feathers are getting stained. I love her, but Grace is not her middle name. She has her favorite dust-bath spot in the yard, and if the sun is out, she will be in there throwing dirt all over the place, even if it rained 20 minutes earlier.

What happened to you all?

I LOVE the cheap plucker!!!!

I want directions and measurements for box, PVC and how many plucker/finger thingys are on there, oh and how to make the drill attachment. Any cautionary remarks about using that piece of equipment?
