I am lactose intolerant, but the small amount does not bother me.
If you are allergic to cow's milk (

) try goat milk ? It is easier to digest....if you cannot do goat milk, try water in it's place, it is mostly for moisture.
It cannot fail...this is a jumble of good stuff here !

OH I can do the goats milk, wonder if I can hide it the only other one in the house that will drink it is my 21 yr old son.

I grew up in Twisp so I am very familiar with Winthrop. Why would you have lived there? I know you said you write...would you have just done from there? Didn't you say you liked city? Why in the heck Winthrop....sorry, maybe it is because I grew up there. Nothing there but tourist.

course not much in Omak either....LOL.

My husband wanted to experience country living. Me? Been there, done that. We initially found an amazing place in Roslyn but the home inspection showed that it would cost less to dynamite the house than to repair it. Because of that, we started branching out. We both liked the *feel* of Winthrop but I figured that, since I'm of the sort that thinks it's freezing cold when it's under 70 degrees, I wouldn't really like the FEEL in the winter! We ended up in Brinnon because of the house we found. Both of us work from home. Well... I primarily work from home but I do go on location with films a few times a year. I'm a writer and a producer so sometimes I have to be there to make sure people aren't ruining my investment. We found Winthrop after the Roslyn thing fell through and we took two days to just drive and see what we see. Neither of us had ever been there. All things equal, I'd rather be there than here. 30-45 minutes to a grocery store isn't my thing.

Eh. I'll get out of here soon enough.

Oh.... I forgot to mention. I have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic....yes diabetes runs in my family and yes I have some "immediate" family who are insulin dependent.  "Pre" basically (from what I understand) means either "shape up now" or pay the price. It sucks getting old. Oh, and my vitamin D was at an extreme low level so I am on 50,000 units for 12 weeks (a week) and then recheck and back to 1,000 units a day if that works. Again...stinks getting old.

Please get with the program and get that under control NOW ! You do NOT want to go there. For DW  we do 1 med for diabetes, 1 insulin morn and eve and one insulin morn, noon, dinner and bed time. Testing 4 times a day. And then if the health aspect doesn't get your attention. Maybe this will test strips $45 per month and insulin   1 box (2 1/2 week supply)  $265 we use almost 2 boxes per month of  one kind and 1 box of the other. Just think what not taking care could cost. THAT NEW TRUCK!

Trust me...I am focusing. I don't want to have to do all that. I will be exercising and eating better. I think I am going to join weight watchers on line...to help keep me on track. that way I have to document and "answer" to someone (thing).

The most important determinant of Type 2 diabetes is genetics. It is not a punishment for anything. It is not a self-inflicted disease.

Take care of yourself, in all ways. Love yourself. Learn to be a healthy diabetic.

Julia, falling down on the job on that being as how I haven't eaten dinner yet.

OK, the EEs are finally out of the bathroom!

I need to lose the alpha cockeral RIGHT NOW: if anyone wants a free chicken to fatten (or rather let live outside and stop tasting of bathroom) and eat, PM me and I'll hold him for you, otherwise he goes on CL as soon as I can think well enough to write the ad. He's pretty, but a bit of a jerk to handle. The other cockerel needs to heal up from his abuse before I can figure out what to do with him; I'm putting the Tower of Solitude back together for him, probably Monday.

I ended up with three variously silver pullets, who are all tame as milk, and all laying, and two red cockerels. The only red pullet I had left after I sold eight of the fourteen chicks died at POL; she was in laying position and stone cold dead one morning. The silvers are about as unidentical as they can be: Tertia has muffs and a beard, Gingersnap is true silver with ear tufts, and Quinta has a pale body and a dark head and cape, with no extra feathers.

I spent way too much time since Thursday dealing with mistakes my hired hand made from not having a BS filter or something. I had her make a diagonal cut in cage wire, and she did: diagonally across the wires, so I spent almost two hours today very carefully removing the razor-sharp staub ends.

Must go eat dinner; hope to be around more soon.
