I have hiked this trail. I think it was the summer of 1969. It was the only time that my dad was ever out of work, due to a Boeing recession. So dad and mom figured out how we could go on vacation without costing anymore than if we had stayed home. We hiked from Hurricane Ridge to Staircase. With 5 kids we took 9 days to make the hike.
Where is this at? My kids and I spend most of our summers hiking and this looks like a great hike...

Well, FlyRobin should be here soon to collect her Vulture.
Vulture is a replacement pullet for the one I gave her before which was an Ameraucana instead of an OE....................at least they were both girls

Also turns out Mom never told anyone we were having lasagna at her place on Sunday...so my bro went ahead & decided to do burgers at his place....and he never told me or Mom but did tell sister, who has made a huge potatoe salad.
So, then Mom decided to get a mess of brats & do brats also, forgetting both the lasagna AND burgers stuffed with bleu cheese that brother is making.............

And Dad is watching football and has NO IDEA what the heck is going on.
I just talked to sister & we decided to make a pact (with brother also) that from now on if we are hosting a holiday, we promise to notify (call) each other instead of thinking Mom will.I seriously think she completely forgot about making arrangements with me about lasagna on Monday.so when bro called her on Wednesday...she said ye to his plans.
He said she never mentioned the lasagna or Sunday...................she never told him.
It was my e-mail I sent on Wednesday morning to him & sister that he finally learned of the plans for lasagna on Sunday.
Then he thought he had made plans first & I was interrupting his plans.I had to tell him & sister that MOM & I had made the arrangements for Sunday lasagna on Monday.........and it was MOM's idea..and that MOM never told anybody !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom is loosing it.
We have to agree to talk to DAD about plans, and to each other.

And no longer rely on Mom.

Hello everyone... I am just stopping in to say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY... to all the mommies and the chicken mommies lol... I am over 100 post behind so I hope I didnt miss anything to important. ALL is well in my neck of the woods. My red broilers are doing great love spending their days out in the sunshine. Out of my 3 BLRW 2 of which are males... I MIGHT keep one but I am not sure yet but if anyone wants one let me know. I am starting to think my RIR pullets are not RIR they dont look like RIR at all. A friend of mine who has chickens as well told me they are buckeyes. I dont know the difference but I do know that these 4 girls look nothing like my RIR hen Henny Penny and nothing like my RIR pullets I have had before. They are a lot bigger have longer necks and are way darker so I dunno. Well I hope all is well with everyone.

I thought I would share some pics while I was here Heres a pick of my BLRW the two Males are standing up looking at me and the pullet is laying down. You can see my Red Broilers in the background and my EE Eagle as well Eagle ~She is a EE I LOVE her coloring. Henny Penny My RIR hen AND last but not least 3 of the 4 RIR pullets that may be buckeyes??

I am just tickled. My husband has been pretty grouchy about the chickens. He did not think we needed them, well today our son was sitting in the pen outside with them, and my husband looked out and our son who is ODD, ADHD, and all over the Autism Spectrum was singing softy to the chicks. He was SOLD! He said NOW he is okay with the chickens.. lol I was just tickled that my son was being so soft and sweet and gentle with our almost 5 week old EE's.
