Well I'm kinda lucky I guess. Some neighbors have stopped by to see the "chicks" that I've started to raise. They were amazed that they grew so large so fast. (me too)
Sir Stu is obviouly a rooster and was so noted by my friends. When I explained that if he became too noisey he would be destined for the stew pot, ergo, his name is Stu. They all said no, he would not be a problem as they all liked to hear a rooster crow! They grew up in farming areas as kids, wow.
We will see what happens. I hope what they said is true cause I've grown to like Sir Stu, he's been very docile and calm.
Jake is still VERY interested in the birds. He's not quite as vocal but he's still looking for a way into the run. His bark is the happy bark that he uses when him and J.R. (neighbor's dog) get together at the fence line and chase each other up and down that fence line so I don't know what he'll do if he gets access. He's not allowed out without supervision from me or #1 son.
I think progress is being made, we'll see about that as time goes on. Once he accepts the presence of the birds in his back yard, I'll try up close introductions.

It's a bit breezy here in Granite Falls. But still enjoyable. I'm stuck inside cleaning though. Hosting a baby shower tomorrow evening. Figured I would clean today so I can enjoy my day tomorrow before the shower, then enjoy Mothers Day.

Gonna spend tomorrow morning outside with the chicks, exploring DH's overgrown garden!

For the lovely scottish faire people on here. Here are pics of the kilts I made for hubby and kiddo, and also a surprise dress I made for a friend to go to the faire last year. I know it's not chickens but they are wonderful projects I did.

btw: I love my chickens..... I am finding they are much easier to care for than obnoxious, not friendly, cats lol.

Dad's girlfriend embroidered dragons to put on the front of his.

awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited to add: Nothing sexier than a big strong man in a kilt !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, FlyRobin should be here soon to collect her Vulture.
Vulture is a replacement pullet for the one I gave her before which was an Ameraucana instead of an OE....................at least they were both girls

Also turns out Mom never told anyone we were having lasagna at her place on Sunday...so my bro went ahead & decided to do burgers at his place....and he never told me or Mom but did tell sister, who has made a huge potatoe salad.
So, then Mom decided to get a mess of brats & do brats also, forgetting both the lasagna AND burgers stuffed with bleu cheese that brother is making.............

And Dad is watching football and has NO IDEA what the heck is going on.
I just talked to sister & we decided to make a pact (with brother also) that from now on if we are hosting a holiday, we promise to notify (call) each other instead of thinking Mom will.I seriously think she completely forgot about making arrangements with me about lasagna on Monday.so when bro called her on Wednesday...she said ye to his plans.
He said she never mentioned the lasagna or Sunday...................she never told him.
It was my e-mail I sent on Wednesday morning to him & sister that he finally learned of the plans for lasagna on Sunday.
Then he thought he had made plans first & I was interrupting his plans.I had to tell him & sister that MOM & I had made the arrangements for Sunday lasagna on Monday.........and it was MOM's idea..and that MOM never told anybody !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom is loosing it.
We have to agree to talk to DAD about plans, and to each other.

And no longer rely on Mom.

Beautiful work and craftsmanship -so authentic in appearance! I love cultural costuming of any kind. One of the benefits of being an actor is the gorgeous costumes I get to wear.

DH,DD and I have also enjoyed the Highland Games as well as Ren Faires. DH has CDs of Tempest, Wicked Tinkers and a couple by NeedFire. Always a lot of fun!

Yay! I just got my 2 new Gold Laced Wyandottes settled in with the girls! There was no trouble at all! Tomorrow I'm getting one or two more and getting rid of our confirmed roo, then we'll be done! DH doesn't know yet that I got more, he's out of town. He doesn't care much about chicken stuff, but I figure in this case it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission

I think tomorrow it's 2 Delaware's in exchange for the RIR roo.
