Well I'm kinda lucky I guess. Some neighbors have stopped by to see the "chicks" that I've started to raise. They were amazed that they grew so large so fast. (me too)
Sir Stu is obviouly a rooster and was so noted by my friends. When I explained that if he became too noisey he would be destined for the stew pot, ergo, his name is Stu. They all said no, he would not be a problem as they all liked to hear a rooster crow! They grew up in farming areas as kids, wow.
We will see what happens. I hope what they said is true cause I've grown to like Sir Stu, he's been very docile and calm.
Jake is still VERY interested in the birds. He's not quite as vocal but he's still looking for a way into the run. His bark is the happy bark that he uses when him and J.R. (neighbor's dog) get together at the fence line and chase each other up and down that fence line so I don't know what he'll do if he gets access. He's not allowed out without supervision from me or #1 son.
I think progress is being made, we'll see about that as time goes on. Once he accepts the presence of the birds in his back yard, I'll try up close introductions.
To all the new peeps. Whatta great site this is. Very fast moving but good people and good info for the asking.
