Well let's see:
The coop is 194 sq ft (I believe - it is just under 200 sq ft).
It will be housing a lot of birds...I am so excited. I will also be having it to store some of the "chaos" in my yard to clean it up and organize it. I am hoping to have 5 or 6 pens of breeding trios or quads. Then on the other side will have broody pens and brooder/grow out box/boxes. My head is spinning from all the ideas.

Oh: 3 serama eggs = 1 grade AA eggs. So for a 3 egg omelet you will need at least 9 serama eggs. LOL. Not sure how many ina quiche.

That front wall is so tall, you could even mount the broody pens on the wall, and have a double-decker coop! That's so cool!

Wow! I've been gone for 2 days. I'm way behind on reading posts. I am truly stunned how much my chicks have changed in the last two days. If they were not in my kennel, I would not have even recognized them. My EE is feathering beautifully. I think she's growing her beard back, too. She's getting a fuzzy face again. I'm looking forward to giving them some time out of the kennel tomorrow. They've been cooped up 2 days to long.

Hi itsren! Welcome back. Did your mom's move go well? My EEs beards are coming in as well, it's adorable!! They're all getting huge and sick of the coop, LOL! But VelvettFog is coming next month to build us a run!! Woohoo!!

Teresa, I'm all et up with envy: lovely structure and oh, my, to have reliable help!

The hired hand and I got all but the last stretch of wire on the Hamburg extension Tuesday, but the last bit is way off the ground and nobody at all thinks I should be working on ladders when I'm here by myself. So it waits until I have the hand back (not until the second week in June, earliest) or I can beg help from the youth of America.

So what is the difference between a regular nesting box and a broody pen?

So, smelly mustardy droppings are NORMAL. Which is good to know because I thought my birds were sick, too - but they aren't acting sick.

Wow, that is one HUGE coop for lots of little chickens! I Love it! How many square feet? That copp sure will be able to house a lot of chickens! How many serama eggs does it take to make a quiche?
