Oh, and we are looking for a travel trailer, about 16-20 feet, in good or repairable condition, as I suspect we might have to be living in it as we build....instead of this tiny cabin which is not "code"

PM me please.

Took our Black Copper Marans to Dr Bruce this morning. Her crop was huge, full of food and fluid going no where. He didn't waste our time or money and suggested putting her down. Charged me no more than the office visit to have it done and was a lot easier on my daughter who was with me. Had a chicken funeral for her. Down to 36 chickens from 40. Then drove to Kirkland and dropped off eggs to sell in a Naturopath clinic.

Aw, so sorry about your bird. Glad it wasn't too tough on your daughter.

Thank you ever so much Chickielady. Very kind of you to go to such great lengths to get information for me. I do appreciate it very much. I'll let you know how it goes. Will try e-mail first.

Quote: I only got a small container of Sevin, in case I got a bad outbreak. I has Permethrin powder, DE, and am going to get the Permectrin so I can put it in a spray bottle. I am hoping that with the amount of DE I use and Eprinex I can avoid using anything harsh. But if I miss the beginnings of an infestation and it gets bad, I believe in being prepared. But I do agree that it is harsh and I like to use more natural forms of control if I can.

Just got back from Monroe feed. Got one blue Wyandotte and three blue/red wyandottes to put under my broody speckled sussex she has been sitting on four eggs for 25 days. I gave up on the eggs. I will try and slip the chicks under her tonight. So I have a gold lace wyandotte with two three week old babies , my sussex will have four now and I have a mottled java that is sitting on seven eggs due in two weeks. I don't want to keep any of them !!!!!!!!! I have enough chickens (31).

That's ok I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going to re-home them (after dark)

I sure hope they work out for you!

I set the surviving $65 eggs today. Wonder if they will hatch.

Thanks for the help. I won't be replacing the eggs.

My husband picked up three EE chicks to keep the chocolate company. Seems they took to each other immediately (see if you can find the yellow/chocolate butt beneath the new babies).
