Glory be, a nice steady rain, just what the doc ordered. Very cool and pleasant here in Rochester, the girs are out and about looking for the creepy, crawly goodies.

Can anybody tell me where Redmond is and do they have bright street lights. Planning my next shoppng trip and I think it will start right here!!

We have no street lights at our end of the road. Our outside barn light is broken too. If you come rustlin around in the dark, it might confuse the bear and she'll come give you a kiss.

So Excited!! I get my orders for my chicks next week. Though out of the two orders really only 3-4 are going to be mine.

The rest are a friends whose letting me use her brooder and run. At least til I can get mine built. But still, I can't wait! Soon I will have little chicks peeping around and my own little flock.

If it wasn't bad enough that my brahma went broody (two weeks for chicks for her), I have a couple more of my layers thinking about it now.

And the one silkie that had started laying is now broody. She made it 16 eggs. I don't think the cockerel knows what he's doing yet. but I let her have the last few eggs. We'll see if any are fertile in a few days. I can always give her a chick or two from the brahma's clutch.

Chickens are making me want to pull my hair out. lol

The best part of all this is I found out that where I am getting one of my orders from is going to have red cochins in soon... And both my friend and I have been wanting them.

So guess what I'll be ordering after my next paycheck... heehehe. Good lord, there goes the chicken math...
