A swing of a degree or two is not going to make much difference. In fact, I run my 'bators at 100, and once it went to 102 for several days - the eggs hatched a day early.

In the wild the hen will leave the nest almost daily to get food/drink and go poo. The egg temp will drop several degrees while she's away.

Went out to let the birds out. Rhodie's in the nest box. Caunnie was standing in the run and kept squatting - with no one near her. Drama's face is very red today - and she looks like she's grown even more! Hopefully the mystery of who laid that 2nd brown egg will be solved today. Needless to say, no one got let out. I want eggs deposited in the nest box. I'm hoping to see 3, so I can figure out who's laying what color.

check vents -- you will be able to tell who's laying.

Still it's better to go with the flow and enjoy the ride. I've learned that it's going to happen one way or the other.

I raised 3 boys, all grew tall 6'3" to 6'4". My middle son had the worst of the growing pains and his knees to this day give him some problem. Their growing spurts usually occured middle of Oct to Mid Dec.
Baby aspirin should help or low doseage.

On another note; 7 RIR and 2 Eng Orps and got 7 eggs yesterday. The Eng O's are laying!
Now I may have to have another little talk with the 2 lazy RIR. ;-)

She 4. 4-year-olds require repeat reminders. That's how they learn. Neither Bob nor I were bothered by it because we both understand the mind of a 4-year-old has a very short-term memory. Shoot! For that matter, the mind of a 10-year-old has a very short-term memory!

I think it's more "selective memory" and it doesn't improve by 12, I am seeing in my DD!
Very interesting article! What struck me is the correlation of growing pains in the legs and migraine headaches. My daughter frequently has bad headaches. I don't know that they are migraines because she has never thrown up. I think I'll bring a print-out of this pdf to her next well-check-up.

They also mentioned Restless Leg Syndrome. I have that very bad, and have had it all my life. Last night I wondering if she might be developing that. I'm hoping it is just growing pains. I wouldn't wish RLS on anyone! It is miserable. I don't take meds for it because I'm allergic to so many medications. We still don't know why. My doc suspects that eggs are used as a filler in medication.
In children migraines don't usually express themselves in the same way as they do in adults. I had frequent headaches as a child but they changed when I hit puberty.

They first started to affect my eyes with tunnel vision and eventually started making me nauseous when I hit about 13. RLS didn't start for me until a couple yrs after having my daughter. I really hope your daughter will not develop these horrific conditions!!!!!! You should try an NSAID though as it may give some relief for her legs. With MY headaches I was told not to use Tylenol or ibuprofen as they can exacerbate migraines. NOTHING actually worked for me on them, though. For tension headaches and such I use naproxen or maybe try Excedrin. Now that I think about it, Excedrin Migraine (which has caffeine) was the only OTC that even took a tiny edge off of migraines. The only Rx that did help a little bit was the Imitrex injections, but not enough to make it worth the cost!
Hope your little one feels better soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She said her knees hurt the worst. I had to turn around in the car and rub her knees quite a few times last night.

Hopefully your 2 RIRs will get their act together today!
