So I finally got it out of DH that he used poison in our backyard to get rid of the huge bee or wasp nest that was in the grass/ground on the back half of the property.

I TOLD asked him not to do that and to try alternate methods but apparently he doesn't care about our chickens or if they suffer horribly. I think Tilda was poisoned and that's how. So now I'm off to research how to help a chicken who was poisoned, and now I also can't let the chickens out of their run at all until we've had a really good, long, intense rain. Poor girls. They're gonna be 13 very unhappy chickens until then.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....so maybe she ate some of the dead hornets,, and now she is ill ?
Do a bit of molasses in her water as was said before.....and just keep trying to get her to eat is all I can think of.
Poor baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to those of you who offered 20 gallon fish tanks. I managed to find one today, and no longer need one. I happened to walk into a pet store and they had a special - tanks for $1 per gallon. I figured $20 wasn't too shabby, and, even better, I was able to get one of the tall 20 gallon tanks, which works well on our stand. I know the tanks that had been offered were quite a distance away, and I probably would have spent $20 (or more) in gas just to pick it up. I do want you to know I appreciate the offer, though.

When DH saw the new fish tank he responded with "Oh good, now we can dump the gold fish and get "real" fish."

Then he smarted off about how much our "free" fish have cost us.

We've had those free goldfish for three years... we're not doing them in just because they're mutt fish.

It was probably a good thing my local Trader Joe's didn't have fertilized eggs today. My coming home with a larger fish tank for the free fish and fertilized eggs might have been to much for him to take in one day. Although... I had a whole spiel worked out in my head about how incubating store-bought fertilized eggs would simply be a science experiment and probably wouldn't have resulted in baby chicks anyway.
I can bring ya a few Fudge x mutt eggs for yer speramint. But they have been in the fridge a couple days!!! Speak now or text me EARLY am (like after 5:00am).

Thanks, me too! She's in a crate on the kitchen table (the extra table...not where we eat

) and seems high spirited but feelin' pretty crummy. She wandered veeeeery slowly around the hardwood kitchen floor for a while to stretch her legs this evening.

Um... how does your husband like his new house pet?

GAWD--the smoke here in Wenatchee is SOOOO thick you can TASTE it! We're down here helping DH's 80-year-old grandparents pack up their stuff...the fire is within 5 miles of their home now. :( They've lived in it for 60+ years....we've taken two trips to the other side of town (where my DH's aunt & uncle live)...I've never wanted rain so badly in my life! And none in sight. :(
OMG praying for you !!!!!!!!!!
We here on the coast should get a drizzle in the next 2 days A.M..............and I watched BIG rain clouds march east ALL DAY !!!!!!!!!
Hopefully you get something !

I am so scared with this drought and all the brush & scrub we have !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it looks like I may be meeting with myself tomorrow !!!! CGG has had to back out for very understandable reasons. I am still going to be at the Enumclaw sale. But may not arrive until about 10:00. I plan to stay until the sale is over and then probably have plans else where after so probably won't stay much after the sale !!
I have about 15 cockerels you can have to take & sell~~~~~~~~~~~

Heather I am so sorry to hear that. I so hope the fire lays down before reaching their home of so many years. and Hope you all get relief from the smoke. It is amazing but every once in a while we get the very strong smell.

Like this nasty dead deer ??????????
Last 2 days (thankfully) we have had a strong on shore wind, which we should have...and it is bringing in big clouds.
We have had drizzle....but most of the clouds are marching east.
Next 2 days are predicting some drizzle...............

Ha! Ha! Why not! That'd be awesome! What time do you think the auction will let out? I have to drive to Enumclaw tomorrow to pick up the clarinets. I can plan to go to the music store during the auction and swing by the auction on the way back. I don't want to bring my kids into the auction again - my youngest son really had a difficult time with it and was very worried I'd bring him back there. DH asked me why I didn't bring ear plugs with me that day... ooops! Just didn't think of it. For some odd reason it never really connected that boxes and boxes of chickens would be noisy.
