OK all went well. The girls were very well behaved this morning. Although I didn't take any chances. I wore extra clothing under my suit (I normally get too hot to do that), the weather was very cool so the bees stayed in cluster and I took no chances I smoked the hive very heavy. I don't like to use smoke as it really messes the bees up and sets them back about 3 days in production.
That's pretty much all the good news. Oh and I took 0 yes ZERO stings !!!!

And now for the sad news. There will be no little pots of gold this year. There isn't even enough for a little taste !!!

Just hoping I can help them survive the winter
Glad yer not dead. ;)

Hmmm...All my birds are very wanted, but it's nice to know there are other chicken folks in Eatonville!  Check with the people at Webster Road Feed and Graham Hay Market...they might have connections, and the folks at both places are really friendly.  Black Star Feed in town is more local, but less knowledgeable...The lady there was talking about someone in the Ashford area with chickens for sale, but that was last spring.  Good luck and happy hunting!

Cool, I will check out those places. I have never went in the store in town or Graham. I end up going to Kings off Hwy 7.

I have three roosters that need to be gone.  You are welcome to them.  I'm in Puyallup though, not sure how far that is.

Lisa

I'll run it past my hubby, and pm you.

Also FYI the sale at Enumclaw is a lot different than either of the 2 in Chehalis. See at the Chehalis sales the birds are in sale cages so you can "preview" . At umclaw they pull the bird out of the box show it and sell right then.
I do take birds to sales. I don't normally add any info about the bird. I do not knowingly sell ill birds.
I would not buy at one of these kind of sales but IF a person does choose to. Remember it is ALWAYS BUYER BEWARE !!!

Thanks for the warning. It seems the poultry side of things is as bad, or worse than the equine side. I'm affraid to know about the cattle.

Itsren.

Some times the repair is sub contracted out.
No matter what I'd be contacting the manager of the store not the repair person.
Reason is you want to start at the top to save your self time.
The repair person already showed their service was inferior so even if they do it right they won't take as good care of you then if it comes from the manager.

Give him a chance to make it right to you.

Good business people who realize someone in their organization messed up will not only solve the problem, but will make up for it in a gift card or something like that.
I'd see if they have an email and I'd put in the subject line Contact ########## as immediate resolution needs to take place this morning.
Explain your timeline and how this needs immediate attention.

Then I'd call 15 minutes after the store opens.
Most businesses run right check their emails before they even open to put out the fires employees have started over the weekend.

A business person who messes up has two choices. Try to justify their employees actions or take care of the problem in such a way that after their client calms down they are so impressed with how they were treated after the problem they feel that the business deserves another chance.

I'd rather hear about a business that messes up taking excellent care of the problem and the person telling me wow the manager jumped all over this situation because then I know ok if I ever need their service I know their clients aren't just a numbers game like a lot of businesses are run.

Some businesses they don't care cause they know with advertising etc enough people will keep coming.

I sure hope they fix the problem. I spent $60 for a $12 repair. The other repairs were not even looked at or touched. Parts that were broken and were supposed to be replaced were not. They weren't even touched. The instruments were dirty and the first words out of my 10-year-olds mouth were "Mom, I thought they were supposed to clean them". They were supposed to come home repaired, cleaned, tuned and ready to play.

The day I dropped it off, the guy was nice and friendly and very thorough in explaining what repairs were going to be made. He told me what parts they were going to replace. At that point, I was very happy and impressed.

Yesterday, the place was busy, and noisy (they have a drum set in the middle of the store with a sign that says "Play Me"). Conversation with the lady was difficult. She kept asking a guy, who was sitting around playing a guitar, questions. She had too many customers to deal with and was busy. I was surprised the guy on the guitar didn't get up and help her with the other customers. I kept looking over at him trying to figure out why he was sitting there ignoring everyone when the lady clearly depended on him to know what was going on in the store.

It was my fault I didn't open them and inspect them on the spot. I could tell she was overwhelmed with customers, and my kids were getting excitable in the noisy environment. I just wanted to get the kids out of there. I did ask her if all the repairs had been made and questioned why she was charging me $10 more. She assured me that all the repairs had been made and said it cost more because they found more repairs. She didn't know what the extra repairs were though, but she assured me they had been made.

The part they probably won't be able to fix is my kid has to have a working instrument on Tuesday morning. I tell you, I'm just sick over this. I'm not sure what we're going to do Tuesday. I did leave a phone message and let them know I'd be calling first thing Monday morning.

Quote: See these are the kinds of things that tend to happen with the people here. This tends to be one of the most caring groups of people around. They are always ready to help others in whatever way they can. I can't express how much I appreciate the help I have received here. But at the same time I feel bad in that I am not able to do much for others.
And YES My Dr,. told me "if you have to use the pen you MUST call 911 immediately!" BTW my Dr. is also a beekeeper so has some understanding of what and why we do with bee's. It's called PRESERVING LIFE FOR ALL OF US !!!
Not a happy camper this morning. I can't recommend Enumclaw Music to anyone. I'm so mad, I don't even know what to do at this point. I took 2 clarinets in, they were supposed to repair, clean and tune them. They guy who accepted them showed me and told me all the items they would fix on them. They did NONE of the repairs, they came home dirty & charged $10 more than the "estimate". The only thing they did was replace 1 cork on 1 instrument.

I HAVE to have a working clarinet for my kid on Tuesday morning, and I don't have any. It took them a week to "complete" the repairs they supposedly did.
They're not open today, and I'm stewin' on this.

I have never seen such poor service from any company.
So sorry you had this bad experience. I do have a question and I really hope this doesn't come across wrong but did you look at the Clarinets before you left the store? I know one should not have to do this as one should be able to rely on a thing called trust. Sadly anymore trusting that the work has been done and right tends to not be a safe chance to take.
Quote: Yeah cause ya still need yer ducks delivered.

LOL Actually, we may have a solution for this...elizmartin needs a cockerel from me, and I need my quackers, so we are working out a Friday that she can swing by and get my ducks, and we can meet in Oly somewhere...I'm sensing a lunch time meet up perhaps, if anyone is interested in a Friday lunch thing....it won't be this coming week, but maybe one of the following 2....

Quote: You contact the owner/manager and try to start nicely but firm. With the idea of that your child needs an instrument by Tuesday. You brought your instruments to them and in in good faith were assured that said repairs would be done in time. Then explain how they notified you the repairs were complete. Then explain how the store was busy when you picked up so you took your instrument in good faith and on the word of his employee. Then tell what you found once home. And that since the repairs were not done and you were charged extra you would him to supply your child with a rental/loaner FREE OF CHARGE while his company properly completes the repairs that you have already paid for!

Does anyone use a spreadsheet when hatching eggs, if so do you make your own or is there one on here. I looked but could not find one. I want to start next month want to get everything together first.

I made mine for tracking hatching eggs... but everyone wants different info to track... what are you looking for?
