Well, yesterday i thought I would scramble up some eggs for the "girls". I also had some left over pasta and when the eggs were cooked, I added the pasta (just to warm it up) and then mixed them all together. I asked my son to take the concoction out to the "girls" in their pen. He went on to tell me how "wrong" this was...it was like they were eating their own kids. I had to laugh....he took the "goodies" out to the pen and all the girls attacked the pile of Yum-Yums. Jacob was appalled. Too funny.

The sisters have never been around a mature roo, so it will be a learning process for them. I'm glad your enjoying them already. They are both friendly and can be vocal. They LOVE to anounce to the world that they have laid an egg. And they generally stayed paired together and would cackle together when one is laying. It sure is quiet here with the mature gals gone...

As for Chloe, she is a doll, but a HUGE monster too. At the moment she is standing in the middle of the living room attempting to sing "twinkle twinkle little star" though it sounds more like "tinkle tinkle ittle are" lol She sure is determined to talk.

Thought maybe you'd like an update on Roz, whom I rescued from the eagle. She's doing great. She's missing two patches of skin about the size of quarters on her back, and a bunch of feathers, but is otherwise alright. There's no sign of infection. I borrowed a dog grate which I set up next to the chicken tractor. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say they were all happy to see each other. They all crowded next to the adjacent ends of the set up. Roz will have to come in at night for a while, but the blu-kote hides the wound so well, I may try her in with the others in a few days, under supervision, of course.

I hope you all don't get upset with me asking question.

Due to resent events our plans have changed. I am now gathering information on towns in northeast Washington with 3000+ population. I believe some of you live in or close to some of these towns and was hoping you could help.

In these towns what areas do I want to stay away from?
From what I have found on the net Spokane has a nice farmer market. What about the other town I have listed?
It looks like Comcast cable is a choice for High speed internet is there another choice? We use magicjack for our phone so I would like to stay away from DSL.
How are transplants like us going to be treated?
In March/April what is the weather like?
Do houses in Washington have basements?

Coleville
Okanogan/Omak

Since we home school our goal is to stay here in Kansas until state assessments in spring.
